I need some details on Toyota Navigation Units

I am researching and keeping my eyes on some used Navigation Units/Gps on Ebay. I see many that are coming out of Siennas Solaras etc....I would love to fit in a Navigaition OEM in my ride. I am looking at the ones that come in the limiteds etc. from Toyota factory. Does my 4runner already come ready for Gps and Navigation would it be difficult to pop out my current cd player factory and just put in the Navigation unit??? What types of things do i need to know??? i have no clue where to start?? I would love any comments...

First, what factory cd player do you have? The 6disk or the single disk? The silver trim piece around the radio and the trip/clock piece are different depending on the stereo setup installed.
The single disk cd player has the correct setup for the navigation setup you are wanting.

It's a fairly easy swap to install a Toyota OEM navigation system in your 4Runner.

I did it on my 4Runner and just about everything was plug-n-play. The only thing I had to do was tap into the speed sensor and reverse sensor wires, which is needed for the navigation system to function properly. Other than that, everything else just plugs right in without a problem.

I have the single disc JBL....

Do a search here - there are excellent write ups with pictures. Yes - you need the JBL amp which you have and the single CD face plate and AC controls - so yo are good to go. There's one for sale here that has pictures of all the wires and sensors/pickups.
