I need to order a T4R

Hi Everyone, lurking around and now its time to get the T4R. Does anyone know of any dealers in the Los Angeles, or Orange County area that will order me a T4R built to spec? I keep getting jerked around from dealer to dealer telling me it might take up to 8 months, and even then its not guaranteed to be exactly what I want, blah , blah , blah. Looking at getting 2013 Limited, Blizzard pearl,black interior, 4X4, JBL Nav, Sliding cargo deck, convenience pkg, and floor mats. I can not find this setup without that damn 3rd row and stupid auto running boards. Sorry for venting, but it's getting really irritating.

Order a T4R

Cabe Toyota in Long Beach is willing to order. I worked with their internet sales guys, Kinney and Evan, not the floor guys.

I ordered a TE on July 3, it was built on Sept 4, shipped from Japan on Sept. 5 arrived at the port Sept. 19 and at the dealers on Sept 28. 3 months total. I got a 5.7% discount off MSRP.

Your dealer is right - It could take up to eight months depending on production schedules although three months is probably closer. This is not a Ford or GM product though. You cannot mix and match like when ordering domestics. You just have to pick one that is closest to what you want and bite the bullet on the other options.

You can add the running boards later unless they are the powered ones but adding 3rd row seating (or deleting them) requires a LOT more than simply bolting or unbolting a seat. Interior trim swap, airbags and a bunch more stuff.
Some members here have deleted the 3rd row seat but put in a lot of fab work to get it right.

Every limited on dealer lots have the 3rd row and the auto running boards. I haven't seen any of them without either or. I was told Toyota builds majority of them with these options because it's a limited and it's supposedly "fully loaded".
At any rate, the 3rd row is useless for me, plus those auto running boards are overkill for a 40K SUV.

While I was looking for my 12 LE I was also looking for NO 3rd row seats, on the west coast I found at least 8 of them, not sure what state you are in, but maybe broaden your search a little.

Toyota of Escondido

I purchased my CPO from Toyota of Escondido and I enjoyed the entire experience.

I also used them to purchase a lease (Camry) for my parents.

The finance manager there is fantastic to work with and he actually races in the Baja 500 (I think).

Might be worth giving them a call even though they are far. I'm OC and it was quite a drive, but worth it and will probably always buy from them.

Ended up placing an order with Longo Toyota in El Monte. They are a large Toyota/Lexus dealership with a huge inventory of vehicles. They did not have the 4R I wanted but their internet dept was more than willing to order me one built to spec. Only drawback was I would have to wait 2-3 months, which is the least of my worries. Placed a $500 deposit and orderd a 2013 Blizzard pearl with black interior, 4X4, JBL/NAVI, Sliding cargo deck, Convinence pkg, and remote start. Yes the remote start can be special ordered so you dont have to pay outrageous dealer service dept labor rates. I do not mind waiting the 2-3 month waiting period because in the end I get exactly what I want and I dont pay for extra things I really don't need.

The OEM remote start has a very limited range, maybe 150-200 feet at best so you may want to consider going aftermarket.
 
+1 On Longo, in El Monte. Myself and my family have bought all our toyotas/lexus' from them. Our last purchase was a 2012 taco, told my dealer what I was specifically looking for, got a call at 9 in the evening telling me my truck had made it into port. I told him to put my name on it and I'd pick it up in 2 days. Also got a rocking deal on it too, paid a couple hundred less than invoice, smooth transaction in and out in about 1hr.

Yeah I was told that from several dealers, however I do not want an extra ugly bulky remote along with the Toyota keyless remote. That's why I opted for the OEM one.

I agree 100%. As I stated before, all the other dealers were jerking me around. Some even told me all limited models come with the 3rd row and auto running boards. Luckily I'm not a fool to take their word for it. I spoke to Matt @ longo and he said no that's not true and we can order the vehicle exactly how you want it. He was very accommodating and not once did he try to push anything on me from their stock.
