Sounds like you're already in control with an M3, Taco, and forcing her to drive a POS. So, If you want to continue living life as a spoiled self-entitled ****, continue your current path and force her to get the 4r. But I'd recommend she look into a divorce lawyer and see how much she can get from you if that's the case, maybe she'll get the M3 and a CRV out of it... I know my wife wouldn't put up with that ****, nor would I.

Otherwise, since having kids means becoming an actual adult and HTFU with the daily life changing misery associated, just get her the 2012 model CRV. Nice car, very reliable. And Just as others have said, if you really want a T4r (obviously she doesn't but you do), then sell the M3.. otherwise find out how to make more money or self-entitle yourself into debt a bit more.

I'm not forcing her to do anything. We both drove ****ty cars for a long long time before we bought our first home 1.5 years ago. We are just beginning to enjoy life after a long journey to get to where we are now.

My wife's priories (before getting pregnant) was NOT cars. She could care less of what she drove as long as it was reliable. She didn't care about getting a Lexus RX350, BMW, etc to drive in like all the other soccer moms in my area. I respect her for that. Now that we are expecting our first child time to get something more roomier and safer.

I will let her make the choice and have no influence on her decision. I am fine with the CRV as it will be a great first new car for her. After 2-3 years down the line when funds allow I will get myself a 4runner to play with.

Yes we test drove the 2012 Honda CRV. She liked it and so did I but I was kind of distracted due to the salesman talking to me so much. I drove the M3 to the dealer and the salesman started asking me about European Delivery (he saw the German license plates on my car) and asked me what was up with that. So the entire time I was talking to him about BMW's European Delivery Program to him as he is a fellow enthusiast himself with a Dodge Charger SRT.

I want to drive the CRV myself and see a EX non navi model with cloth seats in person. At that time they only had EX-L's on the lot with leather and navi. Still not sure we want leather or cloth for the SUV we choose to get.

Still yet to drive the 4runner. Their is a Black TE at Tustin Toyota so I might want her to drive that. But my wife is the type that if she sees a color she doesn't like (black is one of them) she will automatically not like the car no matter what car it is. She cannot just take the color out of her perception and look at the lines of the car by itself.

So I am hesitant having her see and drive a black 4runner TE because immediately she will say she don't like it due to the color.

As far as the actual topic goes I haven't read much of everyone else's replies, but definitely test drive a LTD. My 2010 handles like a much smaller vehicle. Everyone who has driven it agrees that it downs't feel as big when driving in. Just my 2c.
