I spy with my little eye warn manual locking hubs on a 5th gen. Leave it to Hawaii to figure it out.

Hit up top notch on the big Island in hawaii. They're selling the kits.

Full time 4wd is unnecessary in hawaii, perhaps he did that to disconnect it?
That pic doesn't look like a Limited

No thanks, BTDT. Don't see anything in the pics that would negate or disable the ADD, or the christmas tree of errors that would result. Combining the unreliability and maintenance nightmare that are manual locking hubs with an ADD is almost as stupid as the stretched tire BS they do.

Fake? It would take a special kind of stupid to replace a modern ADD with manual locking hubs.

Does seem odd.

I'm guessing here.... But I bet the idea is to leave the ADD in place... You would end up with two levels of disconnect.... You could leave them locked and go in and out of 4wd on the fly.

It's probably for people who want to run a crazy lift and save the CVs while on the road (by unlocking them). That's the only thing that makes any sense to me.

If you where a wheeler, it would be a great way to limp off a trail with a broken CV or pumpkin. I'm sure the kit is north of $2000 though.

It's an SR5 with TE wheels. It already disconnects into 2WD with the turn of a dial.
God I hated manual locking hubs. Vice grips looking for a place to clamp.

LOL!

I couldn't tell if its an SR5 or what, just assumed it was a TE with the wheels!

I dunno, I surely don't run crappy Warns on my truck, the stock manual hubs are just fine for most every situation! The only thing I can think of, judging by the other photos from that company in Hilo, is that they're gonna go with a big lift and this allows them a couple of inches more than what they would get without manual hubs.

Don't ask me why, I'm a 3rd generation local boy from Oahu, but I've seen all sorts of crazy shidt on Toyotas! If you've ever been there, Toyotas are about 50% of the population's choice for vehicles (lately, most of them are 4 runners or tacomas!), the other 40% are Honduhs, and every kid dreams of either having a slammed or jacked ride to cruise around in!

Yeah, been there, done both of them too. I now have come to my senses and use what's the most reliable for the trails I run, not just go with a huge lift and tires cuz it looks cool!!!

oooh! I hope he goes with the fabtech 20" lift too! Idk, but carrying a spare set of CVs works far better for me. I'm in far worse shape than being dead in teh water if I grenade the 3rd member... Even with a SAS, I wouldn't do manual hubs on the 5th gen unless I had to for some reason. :tape2:

Ummm, I don't think I've seen an auto-locking solid axle since 1985.

Its really not that hard to get out, turn two knobs and get back to wheelin'. Trust me, I've done this for the past 24 years with my truck.
