If your 4Runner was 6000lbs the 3.4 would be dog ass slow but fortunatly your '99 is only about a 4100lb truck. :thumb3:

Mine is 5,250lbs. Is there that large of a difference in weight between all the models?

I'm reading conflicting things about the sr5 fender flares. The limited trucks have holes in the fenders where the flares attach. The sr5 flares just clip to the edge of the fender with no holes correct?

The SR5 flares with the chrome trim attach with screws to the underside of the wheel well/no holes in the body. Any limited style flare or painted flare will attach with clips and have holes in the body if you remove them. Are you asking about the flat black style flare? I think they are referred to as SR5 flares as well. I'm not sure about those as I have never seen any up close.

Your GVWR (Gross vehicle Weight Rating) is 5250 lbs. That is the maximum weight the Toyota engineers determined the vehicle can safely handle.

GVWR is NOT the curb weight.

My '97 SR5 V6, 4wd, manual transmission 4Runner had a curb weight of 3850 lbs. Or at least it did when it was bone stock. With the slightly larger and heavier tires, it now has a curb weight of approx. 3900 lbs.

That means my 4Runner's maximum payload is 1350 lbs, before it reaches the vehicle GVWR.

Your 4Runner will weigh similarly, depending on engine, transmission, model year and equipment.
