Icon stage 1 update

Hey All, I had posted some challenges with the ICON stage 1, and rear ride height when first installed. After a couple months I thought I should update this.

2013 4RUNNER Premium, Leather, 3rd row.
ICON STAGE 1
Factory Rims, Factory UCAs
WeatherTech floor liners, AVG shields and deflectors.
Have not aligned it yet ( I know...)
285/70R17 Duratracs

Initially I had 3+" rear lift and 2.25" in the front. I Have adjusted the front to 2.75" over time and rear has settled to approx. 2.75"

I did mod the front wheel liners, I did remove the mudflaps all around, even though the rear would have fit ok. I purchased some Rally Armor thin mud flaps per someone's recommendation here, have not installed them yet

Ride is exceptional, much better than stock!! No more nose dives, even when I hit a serious washout at 50-60 miles an hour it handles it great, perfectly controlled. Even my wife swears it's much better than stock, although she wants steps :)

I had an Elk hunt in northern New Mexico, and the days before the hunt they had torrential rain and advised us to stay off many of the high mountain roads as they were impassible. The scouting day torrential rain continued. The 4RUNNER ran all roads without any issues at all (mostly in 2wd). After I told the Park managers the roads I had been on, they told me of a few other spots they had banned (strongly discouraged) the rest of the guys from hunting due to very poor conditions. The last day I nailed a decent sized bull and squeezed him into the back of the 4runner, the antlers were very challenging.

I wouldn't have done anything differently with my current budget. If I had a little more cash I would have done aftermarket rims and UCAs. Maybe when the Duratracs wear out I may get aftermarket rims and BFG AT 305/65r17s purely for tread life.

My last two lifted rigs were an Xterra & Titan with spacer lifts, follow the advise of the experienced guys on this forum and save up for a good lift (ICON, Toyotec Ultimate, Etc..). You will not be disappointed, I definitely am not.

Congrats on the hunt and thanks for sharing!

My 13-year old nephew just got his first kill in northern NM a couple of weekends ago.
