OK, the decision has been made and the damage is done. Just got off the phone with LT over at Metal Tech. Just ordered:

btw: what was LT's reasoning for the extended travel remote resi setup for the front with the 2.0 VS shocks (no remote resi or piggyback) in the rear?

You talking about the metal tech rig? That has the +2" TC kit with radflo's.

Simply put, price. I wasn't even going to do the remote resi's up front, but they were an INCREDIBLE deal over buying the standard extended travel coil overs. The rear springs and shocks together were basically the same price as buying ONE rear shock with remote resi. For my driving and what I use the truck for (it is my daily driver that sees 99% asphalt and 30-35k miles a year), this setup is even overkill. But if I get a second vehicle here within the next couple years and want to devote my 4runner more towards offorading, I can always upgrade the rear suspension at that point and time. The front will already be done and ready for anything I can really throw at it (aside from true rock crawling). But the extended travel remote resi's up front allow for more down travel and I figured at least I won't have to really mess around with the front again (maintenance, yes - but not true replacements). And please also understand that you don't need rear extended travel just because you have front extended travel. Hope that helps!

thanks, it does. i was just wondering what references you were specifically considering about those particular components working well together.

and yeah, i'm thinking i'm on the (slow, long) road to a new Icon suspension. :naughty:
