Idle slows to much when hot

Last summer after the truck gets hot it wants to idle to low. It runs fine until it get hot then the idle will slow to 400 to 500 rpm's. Once cooled of the idle is fine till it gets hot again. The winter is a little better,takes longer to warm up, but same problem. The temp gauge is jumping around also, kinda like a short in the wire? Connected.

I take it you have adjusted the idle speed screw to compensate for the low idle already?

No. it idles fine until it warms up. I mean really warms up. Like after you drive it for awhile.

Any sensors I need to look at ?

The engine computer runs off defaults until the engine is warm and has been running for a while, then switches to sensors. My 22RE will idle at 1600 cold if the temp is under about 30F, then 1200 over that cold. Once warm, idle is supposed to be 600-800.

Have you tried checking the diagnostics. Sounds to me like it may be an open curcuit from the oxygen sensor. May even be a good idea to test your ECT sensor.

I'm going to start by cleaning the (Idle Air Control) on the throttle body.
