If you had an unmodded T4R and $500, what would you do first?

I just bought a 2000 SR5, and it's stock.

It's going to be a primarily road-going vehicle (family hauler).

I allocated some cash for fixes etc. and have $500 remaining to use as I please.

I'm just wondering what some of the most advantageous mods/upgrades are that can be done for $500.

I am the DIY type, so hand-modding isn't out of the question. Just looking for some insight from the experience of everyone here.

Cool. I already ordered interior LEDs for domes etc.

Do you mean for all of the gauges and door switches too?

Yeah. I'm not an audiophile, and I like the cohesive look of the stock deck.

I am looking into Bluetooth integration (phone and media) via a Parrot mki 9100, but I'm not looking for enhanced audio quality.

Since you're in Pennsylvania, I'd get underneath and look for any signs of excessive rust on the frame, rear axle, etc., and if found, take care of that first.

The body looks good in the pic.

body is good, but some rust spots on the chrome and I can spot some underneath on the guards.

Any good links to treating undercarriage rust on the t4r (products etc.) would he appreciated!

I'm not convinced the tundra brake upgrade is worth while unless you've got big tires, a big trailer or big mountains.

I'd save the 500 for repairs. How are your tires? I like good tires.

Some tint up front is definitely on the list. Probably a few shades lighter than the limo-dark rears though

Another vote for stereo upgrade, but I know you said it's not your thing... Tint is definitely a good idea as well as a projector retrofit if you do night driving ... Maybe some plastidip on that chrome and wheels unless you like it the way it is. Could do a muffler swap and intake mod if you want some additional growl
