Ran Clawhammer on monday with two guys from ttora. It was hot, but overall a good day.

here is a video that Scuba made of the run, and a few pics he took too. We couldnt film all the good spots because we were busy wheeling

Broken cv- THe only carnage of the day. Some how no one got any body damage. But my sliders have some pretty good dents in them. And yeah we make tents to stay in the shade

So we didnt get many pics, but it was a good day. Its harder than anything I have wheeled before. 33's are just too small. And you have to be front and rear locked. My self installed front aussie locker has been heavily tested in the last few weeks and it seems to work great. I can wait for some cooler weather to head out there again. I got to use the winch a few times. After I broke the cv I was trying to take it easy because I didnt have the energy to do that again. It was probably 100º in that canyon when I broke.

You are crazy Jason! The hammers is no joke. I don't think I would try clawhammer without having 35's and a few cv axels. Anyways now you can say that you have run the hammers on a ifs rig!!

Thanks for all of the comments. this was about the max a double locked 4runner on 33's can do. I was surprised the extended cab made it, it wasnt easy but john kept at it. It was super hot.

As for the Jv comment period, its closed. I wrote some of the comments through the Pirate generator. We have a few years before this will even go to congress, There has been a few mistakes on the marines side. Hopefully enough to fuel a lawsuit if that time comes. It would be a bummer to loose these trails. They are no joke.

Im so down to go again, but It will have to be way coooler temps

I think we got out of the canyon around 5Pm. I think we hit the first part of the trail about 10:30 OR 11. so about six hours, with a 3 hour cv change nightmare... We couldnt get it to pop out of the diff, so I had to remove my bud built skid and get the right angle on it... It took forever. The heat had up all out of it too.

Thanks did you like his smashed finger It was killing him. we heated up an allen wrench and jammed it through the nail to try and relieve the pressure.

Ohh and more good news. My busted cv joint was a napa one, I figured I would try and return it. The guy said he has never seen a broken cv and he gave me a brand new one FREE! And when i got home from this trip my front output seal on the tcase was puking oil out and I had a grapefruit sized puddle on the driveway and my belly pan was covered in oil when I woke up, Got the new seals in, and Im ready to go

Clawhammer is the easiest trail out there IMO. But, its still by no means easy. LOL

Pretty wide open to take several different lines. Even the waterfall is pretty easy when its dry out. Still, 33s are definitely too small out there. The exit is the hardest section. What is funny is that I remember running that trail in less than 30 minutes in my old rig, but then I remember running it in 5hrs too.

The Hammers have a habit of finding the weak link in your setup really fast. In your case, its the IFS.

Props for running it.

it use to be a little easier. Last years KOH race included claw if I remeber right. 100 people through any trail tears it up. ifs kind of sucks out there. Without a front locker it would really suck!

As for the rubicon runI may be able to swing it. I'm writing this from a campground in MOAB, I'll check my schedule out when i get home. I just got back from running Hells Revenge I'll post up a trail report of this week when I'm home

Choco thunder looks jacked after koh. The window catcher looks weird for a full bodied 4runner, but if you make it... . I need me some 35's
