well im still struggling with this no start issue.....i've replaced the crank and cam sensors and scoured the engine for loose, open or shorted circuits soooo I have a new ICM in route.
from what I read the #1 cause of failure is heat, followed by poor grounds. definitely not a heat issue and with the engine swap a faulty ground makes sense. I know the big ground between battery and block is sound, along with battery to fender and head to firewall. is there another key ground location im missing?

I'm confused about the year of your replacement engine. Could you clarify this? My confusion comes from a reference you made in your earlier thread about 1997 and 2002 engine accessory part numbers.

Key ground for engine control is the one by the diagnostic plug.

replacing 1997 engine with 2002. 2002 just being used a a long block with all '97 parts on it. the only '02 parts I used were the sensors thinking if they matched (which they do) that newer was better. i've since swapped them out for the original '97 sensors......no change

Key ground for engine control is the one by the diagnostic plug.

well I dug into the ECM and measured voltage from the IGF ( I don't know what that means) and voltage was 5 volts as it should be so the next troubleshooting move is to replace the ICM, on its way sooooo I guess I need not concern myself with WHY and just get her back on the road!:noidea:
