I just did the B&M Tranny Cooler upgrade. It took about 2 hours, and was very straight forward thanks to the excellent write ups on this forum.
-Removed Grill, removed skids, removed old hoses (hardest part, I cut them off), attached cooler, ran new hoses, topped off ATF.

Next up will be some maintenance things, and LBJ's for my piece of mind.
The more I read through this forum, the more I see about the tranny cooler. Can anyone point me to a thread that provides more information about the tranny cooler? Are they more for situational driving...offroad versus highway? Just curious if it's something I should be looking at for my rig as I am approaching 200k on stock motor and tranny. Anything that will prolong the life of those stock internals is a good investment in my book. If there is not a thread, could anyone provide any insight into the tranny cooler?
Thanks in advance
Research "Pink Milkshake" and how to avoid it.
Basically, our radiator and transmission fluids are both housed, and cooled in the same radiator. The transmission fluid cools at the bottom of the radiator. Over time, and accelerated by neglect, or corrosion, the partition between these two fluids can deteriorate and fail. When this happens, bad things happen.
Your transmission fluid mixes with radiator fluid and turns into a vomitous Pink Milkshake. In turn this corrupted fluid now cycles into your transmission and will kill it in short order. The damage can be in the thousands of dollars price range.
To avoid this people completely separate the fluids using a separate dedicated tranny cooler.
Or...
You may choose to just replace your radiator every 100K miles as a cheap insurance. This should give you piece of mind and happy operation for quite some time, but only a tranny cooler will guarantee that the fluids never mix.
