My CEL turned off while driving last week, and hasnt turned back on. (It was a knock sensor)

Perhaps just wiring harness, or being driven more sorted things out? I'm happy!

Low profile lightbar tabs, and a 42" Amazong cheapo curved light bar. I was thinking ditch lights, but I think this low-profile light bar would be more useful in the woods at night, and I can run branch deflectors from a roof-rack to a bumper and they wont interfere with the light bar.

Also they are adjustable from 40"-42" curved and straight bars. I'm not able to upload a photo of them but I'm sure has one.

Ok! Some progress.

She's LEGAL! I got all the customs papers I needed, and the DMV trip was painless.

I got 21.62 MPG on my first trip down from Canada to Portland.

The truck, stock, with (4) 17" aluminum wheels in the back and just me driving weighs 4450lbs.

I took it to my friends farm to test out the 4wd on his obstacle course. It was a blast! These are fun trucks to wheel, and having the rear diff lock was absolutely critical to smooth obstacle conquering.

You can see some of the underbody rust from Canada. Not terrible. I'll address it eventually.

I just did the B&M Tranny Cooler upgrade. It took about 2 hours, and was very straight forward thanks to the excellent write ups on this forum.

-Removed Grill, removed skids, removed old hoses (hardest part, I cut them off), attached cooler, ran new hoses, topped off ATF.

Next up will be some maintenance things, and LBJ's for my piece of mind.

As i see you removed your running boards, if you do a lot of offroading/dirt runs, Protect thoese Doors with something rigid, same goes for the rear quarter. Ive suffered from a accident and was forced to remove my running boards of my 2000 4runner, and im a light casual dirt road driver. and when i went to change the muffler this weekend, to my horrible surprise, the whole lower parts of the door paint been literally eaten and chip away from road stones and debris.

You should protect the doors with either plastic transparant coating, or have some of thoese "carpet" behind the wheels . my brain is tired atm so i cant remember the exact names for thoese haha

Hi All,

I'm new to the forum, just bought new to me 2000 4Runner Limited from Toronto and imported to US. I'm going to change the instrument cluster, found few used online for pretty reasonable price but just want to make sure the the ODO will show mileage from my car but only in Miles and not mileage from the car cluster comes from (is mileage kept on car ECU or the cluster?)

The auto CC is acting strange with most buttons inoperative. From what I read on this forum, this is a pretty common issue. I will try to fix it myself before buying a rebuild unit.

Are there lights on the auto-trans shifter area? Mine is pretty dark at night and the only way to see what position it is in is the instrument cluster.

Car runs pretty smooth but sometimes I can feel slight miss when pushed hard. Could this be spark plugs or fuel filter related? Mostly it pulls pretty good and smooth.

Any advise on what I should be checking for and attending to as a new owner.

I went out with a couple friends Sunday for some light rain-wheelin' up at Browns Camp in the Tillamook State Forrest. 4runner did great, and fit perfectly between all the tight trees. We ran mostly blue moderate trails, and I had to use the rear locker 4 times. I am impressed with how nimble and smooth it is for a stock truck.

We took the 4runner out to the coast this weekend. It ran great! 75% freeway driving of about 300 miles returned 18.7mpg. Drove on the beach a bit in Pacific City.

I have just taken advantage of Addicted offroad's 10% off Holiday Sale, and have a Hybrid Plate front bumper in the works! Super excited for that. I bounced between wanted the extra protection of the ARB or similar, but once I compared the weights (ARB = 150lbs, AO = 70lbs) that was it. Plus it's the best looking bumper for a 3rd gen in my opnion, and offers better clearance/angles.

I plan to put the Superwinch Tigershark 9500 in it, with synthetic line, and some sort of front skid plate.

Scratch that last post! I just ordered a Smittybuilt XRC 9.5 with Synthetic line from 4wheel Parts because they are doing a "12 days of Xmas" sale it is was $70 off with a free cover. I discovered a leak in what I'm guessing is the roof rack screw holes. As I prepare to fix that, I pulled all the wet carpet and mats. I love how easy that was!

I resealed the roof rack with black silicone. Hopefully that puts an end to the water leaking into the cargo area!

you are going to love that AOR front bumper. I get compliments on mine all the time. Scotty is a great dude for sure and makes a killer product. Definitely worth every penny and any wait time.
