Brake fluid. Its "clearish" and mine does the same thing. You'd think the brake fluid reservoir would be sealed since it's hygroscopic, but nope,it still leaks out of the cap, runs down the inside of the engine bay, and deposits right where yours did or a little to the right.
I'm embarrassed and feel dumb, what could this be?

Depends on what you consider a stain...
Red wine on white carpet... nope, not that bad.
Water that dripped on other gross stuff, rusty skid plates, and then onto a porous floor... maybe could consider that a stain.
If its clean water, no I would not expect staining, it should just evaporate.

Unless the condensation is "cleaning" existing oil or other fluid grime before it falls.

Just this past weekend I was at historical event in a small community near my house. Part of the festivities were horse and wagon rides. One of the horses stopped to relieve itself, leaving quite a pool on the ground which ran both under the truck parked beside it and into the storm drain. Totally looked like the truck puked out a bunch of fluid. I was amused to think of how the owner of the truck might determine what the "leak" was when he returned.

No determinations yet !! Being a 3rd gen the coolant might have started to mix with tranny oil making the coolant level go up & overflow. Good idea to check the tranny dip stick to see if its real red oil or some coolant mix in it. If thats the case You are damn lucky that you caught the act right on time.

That's a tough one. Shouldn't be tranny fluid or PS fluid (unless your using the clear PS fluid) Might be oil but look kinda clean and not very viscous. Might be coolant if your coolant is highly diluted. To bad your color blind because you could just take a clean paper towel and sample your fluids and compare to the leak you have. It really looks like condensate. You should be able to rule out certain things by smell by again, sampling your fluids on a paper towel and smelling them. Might find it educational also. Last resort is getting some engine degreaser and cleaning it all up real good then watch it every day and try to locate the source.

Update on this annoyance that I still can't figure out. It went away for a good two-three weeks so I thought it resolved itself.
I know it is not engine oil as I have checked that multiple times and it is not low.
It is not PS as that is not low and I have no steering problems.
I thought it could be trans fluid as that was a ***** to check, but I'm having no shifting problems.
I thought it could be coolant, but my reservoir is not *that* low, and I have had no temperature problems whatsoever.
Could it be leaking from the oil filter? I thought that, but then again, it is not staining the driveway (for more than one day).
Could it be oily condensation? Honestly, I think this one could be it as my engine bay/area is pretty grimy (I know, I need to wash it). It is the wet season and the temperatures are fluctuating up and down so much.
Thoughts/comments/flames at me?

I know your pain when it comes to long term problems that seem to have no resolution. One of the problems I see is that wherever the fluid is leaking from it may be mixing with engine grime on its way to the ground thus changing the color and our opinion of its composition. That picture you posted looks a light tan/brown to me but maybe not quite dark enough to be oil. In my opinion this could be brake fluid or power steering fluid mixing with some nasty engine gunk before dripping down.
One possible thing you could do is try to collect some of the fluid with a small cup or Styrofoam bowl. I know you have done several "paper" tests but a pooled sample might be more useful. Collect as much as you can and then compare it to a sample of each engine fluid. You could put a few drops side by side of all the fluids and we might be able to help you decide which one matches the most.
So you would need a sample of the unknown fluid, Brake fluid, Coolant, Engine oil, Transmission fluid, Power steering fluid and front differential fluid if you have a 4wd model.
