Im going to install some PIAA lights and need your help...

Ok guys, so i'm leaving on yet another road trip in a couple of days. I'll be mostly driving through galveston and southern Louisiana to New Orleans for new years and have decided to go buy some PIAA 510s tomorrow from my local shop and install them myself on my grille guard.

Now i was hoping that someone who has done the wiring for PIAA lights before can help explain how to do the install? From what i've heard it seems pretty straight forward (connect to battery terminals and run to switch) but i'm looking for some pretty detailed instructions that i can easily follow tomorrow (i've never messed with the battery or switches before so i dont want to mess anything up). Below is a pic of my rig during the summer so you can see the grille guard. It's already got holes in it for lights. When i'm done i'll take a pic of the finished product!

Done lots of Pisa installs in the past. Pm me if you get stuck. In short you'll need a 12volt source for switching, this can be ignition, low beam or even constant. The actual power to the lights will come directly from the battery.

First step- take off negative (black) battery wire- that way you can't short anything out. The relay will go to the positive and negative sides of the battery. The switch will go to the cabin. You can run the wires through the grommet on the drivers side and to the center console or where-ever you want to mount it.

White wire with dots goes to 12v switched power. I tapped mine into the cigarette lighter wire in the center console- that way when the truck is turned off, the lights turn off. Then the black relay wire is grounded. The rest just plugs together. Use lots of zip ties to make a nice install. I mounted the relay to the fender in the engine compartment- found a bolt it fit under and bolted it in.

Yes! This is exactly what i was looking for! Everything seems to make sense. I think im going to mount the switch in those button spaces near the fuses. I'm getting the PIAA 510s so will it be the same wires and everything as the 520s? Also what's the switch like that comes with it? I was thinking of doing the tacoma switch like everyone else talks about here for a factory look later.

ok i need help. i bought the piaa 520s and need to know how to feed the wires from the battery to the dash. Everything is sealed up and i cant find an opening!

you need to get through your firewall. You can fit the wires through this rubber grommet

It will pop out by the emergency brake.
