Hello everyone,

I've read the site in the past, but this is my first time as a registered user. I'm amazed by the knowledge level of the users in this forum. But am I surprised? No. Intelligent and very cool people own 4Runners! LOL

I checked the site today in regards to my 'check engine' and 'VSC/Trac' lights that came on this morning. Thanks to everyone here, I'm pretty sure it's the O2 Sensor, but will take it in on Monday morning to have it looked over.

A couple of questions;

Can I safely drive my '05 4Runner Sport over the weekend?

Should I take my car to a Toyota repair center or can I let my personal mechanic have a go at it?

Thanks, in advance, for sharing your knowledge with me!!!

Sure you can drive it. When the CEL on mine came on I drove it like that for months.
It ran fine right up until the engine blew up.

j/k

If it runs OK you should be fine. Could be something as simple as the gas cap isn't tight.

I'd take it somewhere to have the codes read before I went to any repair place.
Around here any parts store will do it for free.

Thanks fourwd1! I'll be sure not to drive it for months before I get it looked at. LOL

Taking it to my mechanic today. He's actually an honest one. :wave:
