If it were me, I'd take it in and have the service manager look at it and try to explain the quality of service.

That's kinda large gap for only having to pull the panel off to replace the window..

At the least, they should have replaced the clips with new ones - if the clips were bent when they removed the panel, but I'm with you, I'd be a bit upset about how it looked post repair...

:iagree: They should fix it and fit correctly.

yeah..i'm in Texas and my progressive agent said they don't have a policy like that..thanks though sir..

Texas does have some strange insurance laws, no doubt, but if you have full coverage from a larger insurance company, Progressive Ins being one of them, and especially if you have a lien holder on the title, I can't fathom you not having collision and comprehensive coverage. A lien holder will require it.
If you paid cash for the truck and only bought liability coverage, well, then you probably are not covered for this loss. But generally, there should be coverage in your policy. Think about it, if all your glass was broken, with the cost of replacement, it could equal about 1/6th of the vehicles used value!
A lien holder would not allow that kind of loss to their collateral without coverage.

Comprehensive coverage would generally be the coverage that would cover glass breakage from any reason except a collision with a fixed object or another car, then the broken glass is covered under the collision coverage.

Fire, Theft, Vandalism, Damage from flying objects and Collision with an Animal are all losses covered under comprehensive coverage. Generally, one does not need a separate "glass breakage" coverage, since it usually is covered under Comp. Although some company's do separate the two and allow a different or no deductible just for glass breakage, and regular comprehensive coverage for the rest of the vehicle. Now, depending on the policy and rates, you may or may not have a deductible, but usually comprehensive deductibles are much less then collision deductibles, if there is a deductible at all.

Considering how much money you are talking about, you might want to dig in a little deeper on this issue. Send me a pm if you wish, and we can discuss further. I might be able to assist you with this issue.

I had a cop break my windshield when checking to see if the VIN was legit in a acura and it was in the 500 range. Fullerton PD ended up paying 80% of it but fought it. When others are paying for it, i'll gladly take it to the dealer but if i'm paying for it, I'll get it from a replacement window company...although i've never dealt with a rear window with the defrosters.
