In channel or stick on side window rain guards?

What 's better and why, in channel or stick on side window rain guards?

In my opinion, the weathertech in channel are the best fit out there. I have not put them on my t4r yet (very soon) but had on my last 3 vehicles and they fit perfect with out noise.

can't say which is "best" since I've only tried the Weather techs. I've been satisfied with them. They do however increase wind noise in cabin at highway speeds.

I think the in-channel's look better. Check out Wade's on Ebay. Same as the WeatherTech's, but cheaper.

I've had the weathertechs (that install on the INSIDE part of the window sheeve) on 2 SUVs and will NEVER do it again. They never let the window close correctly. I've did everything (let them sit with the windows closed right after installation for 12 hours). They were noisy as well.

I JUST installed (few days ago) Toyota originals (they install with sticky tape for installation on the OUTSIDE part of door). They also came with metal clips for perfectly placement and rigidity. No tools necessary. They also have TOYOTA stamped on deflectors. Installed perfectly, instructions were in Japanese, but I figured it out. Pricey, but worth every penny. I noticed a REDUCTION in wind noise and air buffeting in the cabin with the windows open as well. I recommend them 100%.

Before my 4R, I had a grand cherokee with AVS deflectors. Those install on the outside as well. Had them for just about a year and experienced NO problems. In short, I recommend deflectors that install on the OUTSIDE part of the door. Those should give satisfactory results.

I have the Weathertech ones installed now, and never had that problem. They seal great and no noise at all.

The only problem I had with one of my Weathertechs was that one faded for some reason. I complained to Weathertech and they sent me a new one.

just my 2c, ive had both. in channel look way better! went with them on an older different make vec. , the person i sold it to didnt want/like guards so took em out & said he heard wind noise since they must of stretched the channel. so i ve used stick on since. aside from not looking as good , no problems with them. one thing tho, if you use a powerwasher, dont spray directly at them, overtime it can loosen & separate em, then u will need to replace a piece of the double backed tape.

Those aren't the ones I got.

These are: Japanese Visors Scroll down to "visors". Like I mentioned before, they are pricey.

Glad to see some have had luck with the weathertechs, but I'm done with them.
