Hola,

I have an 04 limited 4runner and am looking to replace my stock radio with a In Dash Nav. Does anyone have any pics of their aftermarket Nav. I am also wanting advice which units fit into a 4runner.

Thanks,

Scoot

All double and single din will fit in with the appropriate adapter.

Clarion NX500

I was looking at the Clarion NX500. Looks nice. Anyone have any hands/ears on experience with this head unit?

No personal experience, but a quick Google didn't turn up any map/software updates for it. Available map updates would be my biggest concern with an in-dash unit. With a portable Garmin/Magellan/etc., even if the unit dies or map updates become unavailable for particular model, you're only out $100ish, depending on how many bells&whistles you want. If that happens with an in-dash unit, you're either stuck with old maps or throwing away $600-1000 after a couple of years of use. I saw a Magellan with a 4.7" screen and lifetime traffic/map updates for $150 at a couple of big box stores last week.

The NX500 also uses TeleAtlas maps, which are/were reportedly not as accurate in the US as NavTeq maps...the reverse is supposedly true for Europe.

Or you can try out the pioneer "AVIC" series...I have had one for about 2 years and I love it. Clean install, and it fits perfectly in the stock location. Plus there are map updates, which can even be found for free (if your looking in the right places) :naughty:

I got some pics of mine, click the link in sig.

i have had the dnx 6160 and i returned it for the pioneer x920bt way better unit. people will tell you oh get the Kenwood for the Garmin gps. didn't like it at all. my opinion go somewhere that has both and test them out. like best buy....oh wait i work there....

i will post pictures tmr.

I just picked up a Rosen TY0840 Navigation system, going to install it next week, waiting for the parts from toyota for the steering wheel phone controls, it looks pretty much plug and play with no mods, and factory looks...

I have the Z110BT, I LOVE it! I don't have any picts on me but I will get one after I get it back from the shop today. Had to have it re-aligned.

It looks really good because its a 7" screen so it fills the spot well with no extra bulk. You can also customize the buttons on the bottom to be orange to match the stock.
