You didn't state if it 2WD or 4WD, V6 or V8?
There's difference in the drive shafts (4 different shafts) depending on what you have, but here a link for the V8 4WD shaft which is less than the price you've posted.
Compare the part number to the one you have found.
If this isn't the correct one please provide the above mentioned info and the part number for the shaft you need. it's hard to shop for someone else if you don't know what you're looking for!

I did my 2000 truck and I repaired the rear U joint .. 20 bucks .. on the rear diff ..

You really need to double check by sending your VIN # to whomever you decide to buy from before ordering....BECAUSE the above part number I posted is for a 2004 V8 "4WD".....NOT a 2WD, there's difference in a 4WD and a 2WD drive shaft, I don't think you can use a 4WD shaft in a 2WD, the 4WD shaft may not even bolt up to your rear end, or if it does it could cause damage.
That being said here's a link to a 2WD shaft which is much higher in cost than the 4WD shaft...but I can't find a better price anywhere else.

So this is what's confusing me. This is my drive shaft. It only has flanges that connects to the rear differential. The yoke or propeller that connects to the transmission spline is attached to the driveshaft by the u-joints.
The driveshafts I am seeing has flanges on each end. It seems that the yoke or propeller is separately sold and bolted on to the flange.
Is this the correct driveshaft? There are two different drawings. One with the two flanges then the second showing the yoke as connected to the u-joints.

I gave you a link to what should be the correct drive shaft for your 2004 V8 2WD T4R, I also recommended that you contact whichever dealer you choose to purchase it from prior to ordering and give them your VIN number, most of the dealers also would rather you do this to insure you get the correct part for your vehicle.
That's the best I can help you because I haven't personally held all 4 of the different shafts in my hand, the one you posted isn't the correct shaft IMHO, I also have had trouble finding an actual photo of the correct shaft that looks the same as your photo, the best I could come up with is a photo of a used shaft on eBay that has the same part number as what I last posted for you, it also looks just like the one on your vehicle, flange with a u-joint on the rear and a yoke with a u-joint on the front.

BUT again PLEASE send in your VIN number to any dealer you choose to buy a new shaft from prior to placing the order, again this will not only insure you get the correct part, they should also tell you if they indeed have the part in stock and can ship it out quickly, many times they list parts like they have it sitting there ready to ship but sometimes they have to have it shipped in to them before they ship it to you, which can turn into weeks before you get it.
