Yesterday during our snow storm near Detroit, I was wondering when or if I should turn off my VSC. What conditions should I only use it in? what speeds? Thanks for any info, Scott Detroit

For your situation, VSC should be ON. It is not a good idea to lock the center differential in snow because it does not provide any additional benefit.
The only time that you would turn it off is when you're stuck in a ditch covered with snow. Then, by locking the center differential, and thus turning OFF VSC, you can power out of the ditch.
Remember, the ONLY way to turn OFF VSC is by locking the center differential. I do NOT recommend doing this, unless you're off-roading or stuck in a ditch.

Exactly what Thai said, I tend to drive around in the normal mode 90% of the time but when I need to turn the VSC off was when their was 2 feet of unplowed snow in the street, you really need to plow through it and the truck keeps cutting in, I realized that when tryin to get through a 4 foot plow drift and the truck would not let me, VSC off went right through.
For added fun when the roads are empty with the VSC off you can fish tail and do J-Turns and what not.
