Incredibly low mileage craigslist find

I took one look at the odometer picture and almost fell over.
Does anything think this for real or is the odometer wound back?

Looks to me like either they hacked into the odometer and "wound" it back somehow or it has been sitting for 10 years.

I don't know how many of us have a seen a 4runner with under 10k miles, but for those who have, is it normal to have a 0 before the 8? "08905". Seems odd to me.

I'm not sure about the older Toyotas but the newer ones do not display a 0 before any real numbers.

If there was a 'missing' 1 in front of the pictured number (108905), then a 0 would make sense. And 109k makes more sense.

That's demo/showroom mileage and that truck definitely is not that.
Too much wear & tear and the price says it all.

I'm all for the defective LCD. It's at least a "1" if not a "2" that's missing.
I would think a "carfax" would show the real number.

Speaking of nice finds, I found this baby on craigslist: 1999 Toyota 4runner 4x4

How much would you guys pay for that assuming that all of the maintenance info that the poster gave is accurate, he has maintenance records, clean title, etc.? I certainly wouldn't pay anywhere NEAR $9500 for it. I mean, it has 160k after all. Although, it is literally the deep south's only 4wd 3rd gen that doesn't have a zillion miles on it or isn't otherwise a piece of sh*t.

Could have replaced the Odometer himself with new. If you buy from dealer, but dont let them calibrate the LCD for the new milage it should start out at 000000

Looks like it might still have the original oil in it from the toyota factory!
Odd that the oil light would be on after only 9k miles.
Also the roof rack is on backward which is super odd for such low miles

I can't tell exactly but does it look like the floor Mats aren't factory? Look at the passenger mat? Eith 9k mileage 15 years old or not the Mats should still be originals and not up worn at that. Another red flag is the fact the seller isn't mentioning the extremely low mileage in the add. Ontop of that just by the pics I can tell that's not a 9k vehicle and if it is its been sitting outside rather than garaged alot of those years

9k miles and the shifter is worn? Pshh.. what's he doing to the knob when he's not driving it? - actually I don't wanna know.
You'd think if it were real mileage he'd be asking a little more in price and maybe show us the condition of the front seats, they will probably show cracks and wear and tear from what really is 209k or 309k

Has anyone contacted them to see how many miles are on it? Seems like if the odometer really was reading under 10k, the seller would have that be a main selling point.
