Info on the Performance with the K&N Filters 57-9013

I was planning to instal a K&N Filter part# 57-9013 1995-98 Toyota Tacoma 4Runner Performance Air Intake.

Anyone have any good info to share about this intake and how it improves gas performance with the Toyota 4runner 97.

I don't have any first hand experience with this CAI myself, but the general consensus here seems to be that they aren't worth the money, and can even be detrimental to the performance of the 3.4. Look into the deckplate and ISR mods for a far more popular (and cheaper) option.

To be terribly honest, I get 1-2 greater MPG with my stock intake on. Ran the K&N air intake on my 99 for about 6 months, and I (personally) would always stomp the peddle because I loved the roar it made. Great product though. I took it off because I am currently selling my 4Runner. As soon as I get a new one, the intake is going right back on. :boink:

I have the drop in K&N filter with the AirAid tube. Seemed to give me a boost on the highway and my MPG went up a bit. I used to fill up on Monday and make it to Thursday, but now I can make it to Friday and sometimes into Saturday. That's as scientific as I will get haha. But with my last car we dyno'd it and got +10HP. I was impressed. That was on a V8 though with minor mods to the exhaust (which I know played a large factor as well).
