FN wheels for the win. Way better product and customer service than going OEM.

Dustin, any pics to show the T4R stance with the new FN wheel?

Absolutely. Here are some photos from TOYOTA 09 and also a few that my customer's sent me (a big thank you to everyone who has posted or sent me photos):

Thanks Bill. I reposted the photos and added a few more here too. :)

Thanks for the pics Dustin, I have been following along with the thread. I was just wondering if you had taken any "promo" type T4R pics we hadn't seen.

Toyota 09 for the win, I searched and found his BFG's were 285 size. I think my 285 Duratracs and BOSS lift would look great with those rims but now to decide on the color!

Hi Guys,

We've been super swamped lately, and haven't been able to reply to forum messages and e-mails as quickly as we'd like (although we always answer our phones / return phone calls right away). I know that a lot of you are interested in our new wheel, and many of you have already ordered (thank you to everyone who has ordered!).

Here are the specs of our new wheel:

FN Wheels Model Name: ƒ(x) Pro
Diameter: 17"
Width: 8"
Offset: 0mm
Backspacing: 4.5"
Load rating: 955KG (2,100lbs+)
Weight: 23.88lbs (approximate) (vs. 27lbs +/- for the OE wheel)
Certification: JWL-T, VIA, SAE J-2530, DOT approved
Colors: Matte gunmetal*, dark gloss gunmetal, matte black* and matte bronze - *Matte gunmetal available June 2015, matte black currently sold out until July 2015.
Toyota specifics: 106mm hub centric for Toyota hubs, lug holes drilled for 12mm Toyota wheel studs for a snug fit, and center machined to accept flat snap-in OE center cap* (not the raised OE Pro cap). *OEM center cap not included. Plain center cap will be included with the wheels.
Price: $699 + shipping for a set of four.

We sought to answer the demand from 4Runner owners / T4R.org members with this wheel. Many of us feel that the OE wheel missed the ball so to speak with the 7" wheel width. There is no debate as to whether or not a 7" wide wheel falls into the tire manufacturers' approved rim width range for the popular 285/70R17 tire size (it does not). Some will debate whether or not it is still safe, but at the end of the day if it's not in the tire manufacturers' approved specifications you may find your tires wearing prematurely or unevenly, and if so, the tire manufacturer is under no obligation to warranty your tires. This is also not to mention potential safety concerns with pinching a wider tire on too narrow of a wheel.

Consequently, we spent almost a year talking with 4Runner owners about this wheel. We discussed what improvements should made, and then we spent many hours working with our engineering and design time, testing, casting multiple samples, testing again, certifying the wheels, and finally coming up with the wheel you see here.

The specs of the FN Wheels ƒ(x) Pro are perfect for lifted 4Runners with larger tires (especially the super popular 285/70R17 size), but the ƒ(x) Pros will also work great with OEM suspension and OE sized 265/70R17 (or 265/65R17 tires for previous generation 4Runners). The quality of the wheels is consistent with FN Wheels' commitment to offering a premium product in the specs, colors, finishes, etc. that our customers want.

While we are still catching up on e-mails and forum messages please feel free to call us anytime to inquire about the wheels or to order a set: (951)735-1100. We will be adding the wheels to our website soon, but for now calling us to have a set shipped or to arrange a local pick up is the best way to order.

I am also available on my cell for you guys anytime: (714)390-9387.

Thanks again T4R.org,

Dustin

What color would you recommend for a light silver 4Runner?

Safely install? I can tell you first hand that when I had my 285/70/17 duratracs on my TRD Pro wheels for about 20,000 miles I had zero issues on or off road and did not experience any issues with abnormal tire wearing. This is just my experience with my driving habits and rotation every 3k mi. I currently have 305/70/17 Goodyear MTR's on my TRD Pro's, but only have about 3400 miles on them so far. I don't think the discount tire guys would have installed them if there were any safety issues (I could be wrong about that haha). I will definitely keep anyone who is curious up to date with posts on how my experience goes putting this size of tire with 7" rim. If it starts to hurt my tires or somehow becomes a safety hazard (highly unlikely) I will probably put mine up for sale and grab some FN wheels. :tea:

Let's see some pics of your 305's and TRD pros.

I would go with the dark gunmetal (first choice) or matte black (second choice). I like a darker color on silver trucks, so you can create some contrast.

Looking for opionons. Is there a benefit going with the FN wheels vice the Toyota ones. I'm having mixed thoughts on which ones to go with. Thanks in advanced

this is your answer right here: FN Wheels version is 8" width while the TRD Pro is 7" width (for some inexplicable reason). also, Dustin is a great guy.

Any chance of these being made in a bright silver or machined finish?

They're lighter, wider which gives you more tire options, and come in more color finishes. I'd go for the FN's.

Well I got mine in today. Just gotta work with a friend to get a good deal on some rubber. I was thinking of KO2 in either a 275 or 285.

Will I need to do any modding minor or major to fit the 285s. I have had contradicting evidence on many places on this forum. Some say yes and only some minor rubbing on mud flaps. Others have said I will need an inner fender mod and perhaps even the body mount mod.
Thanks for the help in advance.

I have a 3 inch toytec lift and radflo rear coils, same wheels with BFG KO2 in 285 and no rub, i removed the mud flaps just in case but after turning i don't think it'll rub. I also have light racing UCA.

And no issues with the tires on the 7" wheel? My guy is trying to say I could have wear issues but I've told him all you guys say I won't. Lol
