install: FJ suspension, cornfed 3/2, spidertrax, BFG 285/70/17

whats up guys. finally able to get some pics posting of my latest mod. tires/suspension the most important mod.
So quick thanks to everyone on here for the advice. But especially to jason(810moto) couldn't have done this without your help bro!!

we installed front/back full FJ suspension. at the same time put on the cornfed 3/2 lift. I did all this cuz i had a great deal on tires from a coworker that he took off his 2010 rock warrior tundra. too good of deal to pass up and i figured it was finally time to pull the trigger on lift and everything.

so price on everything, im gonna try to answer most questions peeps ask.
cornfed 3/2 & spidertrax was around $500 from burtman(and burtman if you read this FJ stuff works w/ the 3/2 cornfed!!!!)

FJ stuff got off craigslist for $120 but a lot of peeps(including 810moto) have gotten in cheaper.

tires are 285/70/17 and paid $1000 for the tires and TRD rims that came off his tundra. Just put the rims online so hopefully make my money back getting free tires, cuz the rims are only on rock warrior edition.

paid about 140 at horrible ass pep boys for them to switch tires/rims and alignment.

had to do trimming. front mud flaps came off. and trim inner and outer fender. hope everyone likes it as much as i do. rides tougher/rougher and i love it. when i put the TRD CAI on it used to zoom, now w/ bigger tires definite notice in loss of power, but expected and no big deal.

next mods-- diff. drop kit, new bushing-sway and strut, tint, something w/ the rims-powdercoat maybe, and about 10 other things lol. WHAT U THINK FELLAS???!

thanks bro. ummmm bout the trimming...first i'd get urself a dremmel drill. im sure that made it a lot easier. mine rubbed so bad i could see the black marks that came from the rubber on the tire. trimming was a B**** but had to b done.

i used a sharpie above the black marks to provide a line to trim. un-did the necessary bolts that held the inner fender and trimmed a lot off the inner fender.
I ended up having to trim twice after i thought i was done, one day later it was rubbing when fully cranked and in reverse. also didnt even need to jack it up just got under it.

I did a lot of turning the wheel back and forth when was deep in the trimming process. this was to see if i miss any and how deep i needed to trim the metal fender. take it slow and do it right, esp with same size as mine but MT thats more intense. no trimming in back. i can take more pics if u want just let me know. main advice---look for where it rubs--i.e. the black marks--and trim a bit above that.

I'd check JA's website on trimming. I actually just moved my wheel well liner further out, drilled some new holes in it and it's great. Trimmed the lower fender just a bit with a dremmel, can't even tell really.

what up Shane. Truck looks great. And after the minor hickup, glad it runs like a champ now. You were right, with the FJ/3/2 you might be the 1st to get it done. You should have called me on the fender trim. The inner liner could have been just pushed forward without cutting it. The fender itself is what needed the actual cutting but hey, as long as she runs and doesnt rub like a 8th grader before mom and dad gets home, that's all that matters.
Glad I could help you out with the lift and all. Don't know how you made it through the day on an hour and some change of sleep but you did. Guess if it came down to it and that wonderful spring compressor snapped, you would have been wide awake huh.

Now all you need to do is build a box and spray the fenderwells with some of that $3/can Walmart grade undercoating and everything will be nice and black with no marks showing.

Now it's time to wheel man pending enough sleep and all.

trimming is rather easy but like he said, a dremel is a great tool to use. Just get some tape and tape off the FENDER area you need to cut. The inner liner can be pushed forward without cutting it, however, if you need to then cut it but push first.
here are a few pics of where i trimmed. i also used the same bumper mounting holes for the rebolt, just pushed the liner up about 1.5"

i was meaning to ask you about that undercoat spray u used and the brand--wanted to put that on asap. xmas present to myself. u remember the brand? or just wal-mart brand?

i dont get that pic tho? is that the front without the strut and if so---my man!! hard core!!

i decided to just go straight to trimming cuz was excited to b done and rolling on no sleep again. def cant tell it was trimmed cuz i was super anal about keeping it clean. the guy i got the fj stuff wants to go wheeling bad, we need to set something up bro!

AND YES POSSIBLY THE FIRST ONE WITH 3/2 CORNFED AND FJ SUSPENSION! at least i got something going on here...now just need to sell those xtra rims like u need to sell ur bike.
