I GOT MY CB TODAY! I RIGGED IT UP ON MY CAR SITTING IN THE GARAGE AND IM VERY PLEASED WITH IT THUS FAR! FOR ONLY $57 IN EVERYTHING I THINK THIS IS A GREAT DEAL!

elaborate please -you use the cotter pin to hold the antenna upright and locked vertical?

You then remove the cotter pin when you want to access the rear hatch? This gives you the "swing" you need to clear the hatch?

yes i plan on hooking it all up in utah, i have all my drills, tools, connections, and everything i need to temporarily put my cb in, but im not going to put in in the dash quite yet, the old trucker at work says my cotter pin will fail and my antenna will be dragging on the road after too long, so i might have to see how long it stays and what not, but yes $57 is everything! cb-45 shipped and cable at radioshack 11+tax, so yes $57! the rest i made or got for free (antennas, yes 2)

I told you your cotter pin is going to fail! Mine is real easy to move, I'm thinking of getting a handle type screw so I can take it off real quick when need be.

Jordan I think I understand your point would that be a threaded type of handle?-can you show us all a visual maybe from a Grainger or other industrial type of catalog?

How would that cotter pin fail? You mean snap in half? So just use a thicker setup?
