The install took about 45 minutes since I was very careful not to leave a mark or scrape for fear of my wife's wrath. 
I'll keep this short, but feel free to ask for more details.
The mirror is a solid unit. It looks identical to the one in my Infiniti (minus the compass). The installation instructions are OK. Woody provided a link to install instructions in another thread that were a good start, but it would be nice if they had described the power take-off wires better, i.e., color, location. The instructions in the box are useless. There is a plastic cover over the screw that is used to loosen the mirror. It's a torx driver screw, so have a set handy. Actually, if it is loose you might be able to just slide the mirror up to remove it. The new mirror slides right in place. I ran the wire under the edge of the headliner, down the A-pillar to behind the kick panel. In the "Woody" instructions you have to first unbolt the grab handle (two 10 mm IIRC), then the A-pillar cover snaps off. The threshold (pastic strp you may step on getting into the truck) pops up with a little coaxing--I just lifted it enough to get the kick panel edge out from under it. Then the kick panel can come off: yank the dead pedal away from the floor (it is in place with clips). Behind it is a rubber nut holding the corner of the kick panel, remove it. Now the kick panel pulls out easily.
For power I used a key-on black wire with red stripe. You should see a pair of side-by-side harnesses. The one on the right was empty and the one on the left had a plug in it with 6 or so wires. One of the wires is the black/red wire. Behind these plugs is a grounding bolt used for another harness, that is where I picked-up my ground.
The instructions for the HomeLink were awful, actually, they were misleading at best in my opinion. I used the instructions in my Infiniti manual and was able to get the mirror to control our code-hopping Craftsman garage door opener.
