Went with the Avic x930BT, found a great price on it, install was surprisingly simple, was worried about the dash kit issues that there seem to be a lot of but that worked out with no problems, here's the finished product:
Ran the ipod interface under the center console and up next to the accessory plug:
routed it so there is freedom of movement so it easily slides back down for a nice clean look and the door will close back:
very happy with the units performance so far, was worried about the GPS signal reception as I installed the GPS antenna under the front dash, but so far no problems whatsoever, also did the bypass to allow video and GPS changes while in motion.
Threw on a set of spidertrax 1.25 spacers while i was at it. Daystar 2.5/1.5 is in hand just waiting to find a set of good used FJ coils before I install it.
