Installing a new SC - questions anyone?

So my dad took one drive in my 4R after I put my supercharger on and had to have one on his. Similar to my sliders, lift, etc. Anyways, he got a new one and I'm helping him put it on this weekend.

I was wondering if there's anything I could do - measurements, pics, write ups, etc - that would be helpful. I just figure it's not often there's a SC'd 3rd gen sitting there while a new SC gets installed on another 3rd gen.

A write up would be cool if you have the time. The TRD one's are good, but the pictures are hazy and not in color. Also detailed pictures/measurements of some of the parts like the tensioner bracket, bolts, relocation brackets, spacers and anything else you feel is hard to find or get lost when kits get removed and sold.

Yeah I'd say like a picture of each individual part and screw and color pictures of each step like [MENTION=53337]SCRunner12[/MENTION] said. The vacuum diagrams are all different for years which to me is the most confusing thing about installing one, I think the guys that have superchargers should post pictures of how their vacuum lines are run to make it easier than looking at the drawing and trying to it figure out. It would be a good thing to add to the supercharger thread I think.

Thanks guys. Sounds good. I'll get my good camera out and take as many pics as possible. At a minimum I'll try to document the TRD instructions with better, color pics.

Can you please get some accurate dimensions of the tensioner bracket? Like trace the bracket on a piece of paper and upload it, radius/diameter of the tubing, space between the tubing, metal thickness, ect? That is a very hard piece to find outside of Toyota and it would be sweet to have that info.

Will do. I've already started sourcing the hard to find bolts too. It sure would be sweet to come up with a reasonably priced bag of hardware for people installing used Superchargers.

He said it was new, so its black. Its been quite some time since the gray first gen SC was produced.

Will do. I've already started sourcing the hard to find bolts too. It sure would be sweet to come up with a reasonably priced bag of hardware for people installing used Superchargers.

If you find a source for the M10x 1.25x 70mm flat head socket cap screw for the tensioner, please let us know. I went about 50 pages deep into a google search, that thing is scarce!

This will be my third. I've used the TRD manual in the past too. Figured some updated pictures could be helpful for new SC owners especially when installing a used one.

Go ahead and post that link. I found them in 60mm but that's useless here. Definitely an elusive piece of hardware.

those bolts can be purchased through Fastenal for cheap. Just find one local to you call them up give them the sizes and they will have it shipped to their store in 2 days. Very easy I got mine for like $5 a piece.

I checked one of the Fastenal stores down here. The closest they could get was a 60mm. And they quoted me $11 and change. I'll check a different location, maybe the guy at my local shop was wrong.

Well, one supercharger, 2 valve cover gaskets, 6 spark plug grommets, 16 valve cover washers, 1 thermostat, 6 spark plugs and wires later... And I feel like I started a worthless thread. There's isn't anything this forum or the TRD instructions have left out. I started the day planning to document everything but almost immediately realized everything I was stopping to snap pictures of has been covered.

The one thing I did do was take measurements of and trace the dynamic tensioner bracket. I'm going to transfer what I got over to a CAD drawing this week. I appreciate the input from everyone and I'm sorry if this was all pointless. I'll update again when the drawing is done - hopefully that will be worth the effort.
