Hardware help
Here you go dude. I opted for home-made shackles I cut from stock I had. I used 5/16x2x6 with 7/8 holes spaced at 4".....1/2" over stock. 3/4"x4-1/2" (As measured from the inside of the bolt head to the end of the thread) Grade 8 all the way around.......including the spring-eyes. The 3/4 bolts fit perfectly in the OME bushings without the need for the spacer. I greased everything during assembly and haven't heard any squeaks yet. The torsion bar adjustment bolt and nut are the crap you need for the front....See the attached picture. I am not totally sure you will have the same set-up though....Toyota used a 2-nut set-up for the '86-'87. It had an adjusting nut and a jamb nut.....Check around the site or call the guy at Toyota and ask him what the deal is. My hardware was only $21 from Toyota. What the heck did they sell you that cost $90?
Check out the pics and let me know if this helps....Disregard the rust on the hardware, I haven't sprayed yet......And sorry for the suck-%$# pictures!!

The manual I have said that the locknuts were no longer used around the 88 models. I have double checked anyway and there is only the Bolt (P/N 90101-12159) and the nut (P/N 90179-12074).
For those that might need to replace their adjustment bolts here are the P/N's

Now onto the next task on hand, what are the torque specs on the emu stuff? Nothing came with anything except the torsion bars (booklet) and steering stabilizer (sticker) lol, so im trying to find out the required tw specs AND the LUBES. Polys, Molybds, what do I need to get? I bought greasable shackles...
Is there a lube recommended for putting the bushings in?

there has been progress made; got the rear end done, EMU'd. My friend who helped me install it, and had all the tools, made one mistake that cost us about an hour. Otherwise it was a 3 hour ordeal, but now she has the dakar leafs, greasable shackles and the new sick rear shocks. Better design than was avail a few years ago imo..
Gonna do the front shocks in the next day or so, sunlight ran out tonight ( got started at 4pm)and we were ready to eat some pizza, but am kinda stumped on the torsion bars... research time

BTW- this is important- what grease do you guys recommend for OME shackles? I cant find anything around that fits their description and dont want to wait for a batch that i order... right now my shacles are shalacked with food grade silicone spray.... please advise
