Installing LR UCA

Just doing a initial look see and was wondering if there is clearance to remove the OEM UCA long bolt? Does not seem so. Any insight from those who removed / installed themselves?

there are 2 small AC lines (I think) on passenger side that you need to take care not to bend, it's kind of a 2 man job, not difficult just awkward.

Have to hold the UCA in position from tire well and thread bolt through from engine bay. pretty obvious from this:

Yes there is room. Once you get the nut loose use a small screw driver on the lower side and use it to push the bolt upwards. Hold on to the washer so the bolt doesn't get stuck. As tlflow said, a second person, standing up can help feed the bolt from above. Not bad at all. There are really good install threads on the Tacoma forums. Install is almost identical.

In some cases (pending the battery size), you may have to pull the battery to get the bolt out on the driver side.

As above 2 people will certainly make it easier.

Thanks for the reply guys. In searching I see that more than a few Tacoma guys needed to cut the bolt. Hopefully that won't be needed but just in case.... does anybody know its part number? They are using # 90105-A0095 but can't confirm if its the same for us.

And yes, I'm close to deciding which lift to go with, I think.

You should be fine without needing to cut. The passenger side was the more difficult side, as stated above, there are a few ac lines that were in the way. All I did was unbolt some of the brackets on them and put the bolt in. You definitely need a 2nd person in to hold the washers while you install the bolt.

Yes, same part number: Bolt, Upper Arm 90105-A0095

Its only about $ 9 so I will be better safe than sorry.

I didn't need to cut the bolts when I installed them. As others have said a second set of hands would help but I didn't have any problems by myself.

You're not going to cut the bolt are you? It's definitely not necessary.

How long did it take you by yourself? I bought a set this summer and haven't gotten around to installing them.

I did it when I put in my suspension but it wasn't more than 30 minutes per side out with old and in with the new.
