Intake gaskets 3.0 & sealers

FSM doesn't suggest it. I just rebuilt the top end of my 95 with no silicone. No problems yet.

sealer on intakes
I used felpro gaskets, nice squishy blue silicon mini bead around all ports, looks like a great gasket to me.
If you go silicone, go easy on the amount, takes basically none, so squish will be significant. leads me to ;
I added a modest coat of Chrysler aerosol sealer, it was red stuff in a spray can, easy to put a thin layer on.
Mainly cos I had it , but I used it on several joints in various engines and like it for that final degree of surface roughness filler.
My heads were new and the manifold wasn't plainly scratched but wasn't really well checked for flat and certainly not angle. The block was flat decked so that changes relationships a wee bit.
I had the unfortunate luck to remove those parts for a 2nd go, I was impressed by the distribution of the sealer after it was compressed with bolt up.
If you go this way, have to be careful to place the gaskets in desired position the first attempt to avoid peeling off the sealer, but also looks like a respray would not be harmful,as the sealer semi extruded from the tightest interface lines. Previous heads IIR showed slight evidence of seepage across the sealed lines.
couldn't tell you if it worked better than dry, but I slept like a baby that had been rode hard last night and I am tired now too
