These were the cats I used. Yes I had to trim them to fit and I cut off the Lower flange on the factory cats. I did not cut the headers as the cats slid over them I just buffed off the ceramic coating prior to welding. I had to trim and install measure and trim again before tack welding them. I removed them and welded them together on the bench.

Must be welded on a bench. There is no clearance to put a 360 degree bead while installed.

Looks like current eta for 03-04 & 05-09 is 4/8/16 per current production schedule. Those that want a set this time around, order soon. After this 2nd batch is gone, it's gonna be 6+ weeks.

Ordered a set, short back order so I've been told "shipped BY 5/9" so maybe earlier if there's supposed to be a big production run finished on 4/8, unless that is a batch specifically for Burtman. Either way, very excited to fix this leak

Ok so I've read through almost all of these pages and I may have missed the answer to my question, but what is the real difference between the 03-04 headers and the 05-09? Is it the way they bolt up to the motor ?

One has the air injection, other one doesn't. You need to go with the specific one for your year.

Yes. When you unbolt the factory header, the air injection will mount perfectly with the Doug Thorley headers. Again, this is for 05-09 specific.

Thanks for your reply Jason. One question related to your last post, would you be able to weld piping instead of the cats just sold that they come down far enough to get welded to existing exhaust piping on the 05&up.

I guess you could, but depending on your state, not sure for emissions, or how loud that would be....
