Hello everybody! I just bought a 2005 SR5 from my dad and I'm loving it! I especially enjoyed re-calibrating the compass (driving in circles). I'll get a picture of the truck later today I think. Anyhow, I just wanted to introduce myself: I'm a senior in college at Rose Hulman Inst. of Tech in Terre Haute, IN and I'm going to be an Electrical Engineer soon. As for the truck, its stock, silver and never been off road. BUT I'm totally going to get it dirty sometime soon. It's got the Duelers AT's for tires so I think those are decent from what I've read here right?

ANyhow, that's all for now, I'll update with a shot later :D

TJ

PS: does anybody use that fold out table thing in the arm rest? What a goofy piece of equipment. I have no idea what I'd use it for!

Wlcome to the forum, I am sure you will have fun with your truck, is it 4x4?

I sometimes use the fold out to set my ID card on it before I go through the gate every day but not too often (military).

Yeah its 4x4 with the locking diff and DAC and all the bells and whistles in that department :D I ran it in 4x4 yesterday for a while since I found out my dad had not been doing the 10 miles/month deal and everything switched over fine and felt good.

Another question...what the heck are you supposed to put in those HUGE cup holders? The adjuster things just dont stay put well enough...

I use the fold-out arm rest as a tray when I'm eating in my 4Runner. It works well for that purpose and I think that's why some people refer to it as the "burger tray"

Ahh burgers :)

Here's a couple shots I snapped quick before the sun went down:

Stay in school for another semester, I am about to graduate as well with my Electrical Engineering and don't need any competition. How's your senior project going.

I use that fold out table to cover my ipod up when i go into a store real quick. I know its not the best but I get lazy.

Haha, no need to worry, I don't actually graduate till November so that gives you a little head start!

So the space between the halves of the table is thick enough for an iPod to sit in there? That's a good use I suppose :D

I need to figure out how I want to hook mine up. I've got the tape deck going now but that really stinks.

- As for Sr Design: my group is under an NDA so I can't say much but that it really stinks and we're more than ready to get it over with. Just a few more weeks though then its smooth sailing :)

So I have this friend who keeps saying my 4Runner SUV is "not a real truck." I have and always will refer to SUV's as trucks but in this case I think it fits best. If it were a Highlander or something built on a car frame I'd agree, but come on! Does anybody have any videos or anything crazy I can show him to say "here- what not-real truck could do this:" ??
