Introducing my build thread

Say hello to my 97 4runner! My name is austin and we are from socal. Truck has 245k and runs like shes brand new. 4x4 sr5 with minor mods, will be starting this thread as nothing special to be honest. I try to find cheap DIY mods and love to see and discuss others DIY mods. So feel free to post your ideas hope you all like it!

I use zip ties. But I wouldn't use them to hold the handle on a HiLift hanging out the front of my rig. I'd suggest maybe a different location or a better more secure way of holding that handle there.

There is a clamp on the end, zip ties are just for rattle lol i want to get one of those hilift rubber isolators. Going to order tomorrow hopefully. The one i had mysteriously disappeared last road trip.

It is either a 5 foot or 4. Its been a while since the install. And it works great! My buddy and i used them on a long road trip and the reach was very good. I will measure tomorrow. It is mounted to the factory bolt holes where the antenna motor goes.

Did you have to remove the fender ? I like the idea. Unique rather then in the back of truck
 
Nope i did not just the fender liner. Me to. I think it looks real clean and dont see it done alot.

Can you post how you did this and links to the parts you used?

I've been wanting to do this a long time, but couldn't figure out the exact parts.

This is the antenna (almost the exact same)

And here you can see what type of "side mount" holder i used.

Now i got all of those items from my old work. So i dont know exactly what website to get them from. And a rubber plug from thr bottom of most modern cars. Found one that fit and cut a hole so it would seal where the factory hole for the antenna.

Hard to tell but you mount the ground to the chassis and it also holds it in place
