Today I repaired my windshield chip I received from a rock on the interstate a year ago. Should have done it sooner, I didn't know it was possible until somebody on the forum mentioned the Rain-x kit. $10 LOL. Thanks whoever you are!

I have two small chips now, I am going to have to try this out for sure

Painted the sliders on this rare warm and calm day (Rustoleum Satin Black). Scuffed with some steel wool first. I'll finish painting the legs when the fresh paint is dried on a later day but it looks loads better now. On the recent muddy wheeling trip the sticky mud pulled off a lot of the paint when I powerwashed it. That and the usual rock chips on the underside had it looking pretty rough.

After the steel wool:

I never knew there was a kit like that. I’ve seen it done by a glass place with a vacuum pump though. Where did you find it?

Applied the CQuartz Reload sealant. It started raining seconds after finishing up. Beads up water just like it used to when I applied the ceramic coating, it was starting to fade recently on the lower half.

Well, ECGS says rule of thumb 1" needs to be removed from the rear driveshaft to fit their D60. I will probably buy a used driveshaft off ebay for around $150 and take it to a local driveline shop to be modified and ready to install all at once with the axle. I might pick up a set of adjustable rear links just in case I need to move it back or forward 1/2". I'm not sure how much distance I have before the springs become angled too much, 1/2" might be the max but we'll see.

Just thinking out loud here.

Don't forget, we have a few inches of movement from our driveshaft itself too, not sure how much it is though. My wrangler back in the day had a double cardan style driveshaft that helped out alot when I swapped axles.

Sounds about right.

If you adjust the upper an equal length you should be good with 1/2", although than you start pushing your panhard around. How much do the offset metaltech links move?

I was planning on getting the Front Range Offroad links. Relatively cheap and has threaded heims on both sides so double the adjustment range of something like a Metaltech theoretically. But not really offset and has 2 heims (high maintenance and not cushioned). They would hold me over until I go 4-link though then I could sell them.

I'm just excited about the driveshaft problem being resolved pretty easily. It all might be a pretty straight-forward install done in one weekend.

Yeah, biggest PIA will be the parking brake imo. EVerythign else is more or less bolt-on, drive shaft modification is fairly easy.

I'd offer you my spare drive shaft, but I'm still on the line about doing the same thing

You guys can probably tell I'm enjoying this nice weather recently.

Hit a milestone this morning:

Using my CAD skills (Cardboard Aided Design) to prototype a new project...

That stainless fender liner is sexy as fuk... Any plans to develop a set for the 4Runner?

Yes, but lets see how it turns out first. But we think they might be a good product to sell.

They seem very prevalent on Jeeps but I have yet to see a Toyota with them. I have no idea why.

Very cool. No one seems to be aware of it at any generation level 4Runner, (I know because I’ve owned all of them). What price point are you looking to sell these?

No idea at this point, depends completely on the shop's quote. I haven't even made a CAD file yet to send them. Debating SS vs Aluminum, might be able to do both even.

That’s awesome. Needless to say I am very interested! You should post a preliminary thread on this product in the main forum to see what the interest is. Stainless would be awesome considering the strength and corrosion resistance.

Just be careful. Don't mount to both body and frame unless you add a joint to account for flex.

It looks cool, but might make later work a pain (Checking UCA torque, greasing UCA, o2 sensors etc) Just soemthing to think about
