Invoice prices

Thanks....

Shoreline Blue here... yeah, its killing me. I mean, seriously killing me!!!! I mean I've been on this site a lot lately... if I can't sleep tonight, I'll be here.
I was struggling w/ nailing a deal - some dealers, like Boulder Toyota (were they on crack or what) tried to tell me there was no way I was going to do better than $1,500.00 off the sticker.

Last week one dealer and AAA came in at exactly the same number... I went w/ AAA - because of the broker - good guy.

Congrats fxoffroad! Limited Blizzard Pearl w/ what color interior? I'm in the same boat as you--waiting. Mine was at the NY port last week and should be at the dealership sometime this week for pickup. I'm really really hoping nothing goes wrong (it's a dealer trade) and I have it this weekend!! The wait is killer.

you will absolutely love the shoreline blue. Theres not too many of us out there yet. The color on mine is killer.....i just hate all the pollen that GA seemed to sprout out of nowhere right now....that stuff is EVERYWHERE, including inside my T4R

I hope you're right... it was a tough decision between the blue, black or mag. grey. I had decided on the mag. grey and then called and asked if they could find me the blue - and within an hour they had located one @ the port.

Can't wait. :bluejump:

Congrats on your purchase! I'm in Denver too, and I'm ready to buy a Ltd as well -- I want Shoreline Blue Ltd with Black Interior, Nav & 3rd Row Seats. Which dealer gave you the good deal? I'm not with AAA so can't use your broker. I was going to try and do everything over the internet because I'm really a terrible negotiator and haven't bought a new car in 12 years. I was going to offer invoice + TTL. Don't know if I'll get a response, but thought I'd try.

Here's the low down on my buying experiences. I've purchased my last four or five vehicles via the net. And they've all been good experiences... though, they can "load" a deal in a variety of ways, acq. fees, interest rates, etc., so getting a low-ball price doesn't necessary mean Jack.

1. Requested quotes via Edmunds... lots of responses, but crazy (bad) numbers.
2. Physically test drove vehicles @ two dealers north of Denver... both came with bad price quotes (the vehicle is just released and its got a short production run for 2010. This left me worried about success.
3. Went through Costco's buying program... offered $1500 off sticker @ Stevenson's East.
4. Went to Overstock.com and requested quotes/buying certificate. Got 200 under invoice @ Mtn. States and 100 under @ Go Arraphaoe.
5. E-mailed AAA Colorado and initially got average discount, but then after some discussion, they were able to match a dealer quote.

Well worth joining AAA... they don't request your membership, so if you got, what you considered to be a decent number, you could join. Private message me if you want the broker I dealt with.

I would recommend starting @ overstock.com and get their e-mail certificate, that seemed to do the trick for me to get real/better numbers without any haggling.

Good luck... best advice: don't get emotional and don't settle because you're frustrated. Deals are out there.

everyones experience is different, even if you shop by net.

Let me tell you my experience. I thought i would get a good deal off from internet pricing. First test drove an sr5 in nov last year at dealer. Said i would wait a couple of months. These guys kept calling like every 2 weeks. I said dont call me unless you have a 3rd row limited, which is next to impossible here on east coast.

So finally in march a new guy calls me. Said i would pay x over invoice for a special order. They agreed. Waited a few days later. Hesitated. Then they asked what I wanted to pay! Me being the nice guy, considering they have to make money too, offered invoice - for a special order mind you - and they sold to me. NO hassle, no negotiation, not even a hint of resistance from dealer. I probably could of got 1000 below invoice if i really pushed, but i dont think thats a fair deal for dealer (besides i will get free inspections for life of vehicle, over ten years, probably amounts to about 800-900). I think dealers were really after business in beginning of march with recalls, so that may have helped

You can get a good deal if youre patient. Lord ive been waiting to get a 4R since october and the wait is killing me...
