Ipad Mini RAM mount Install with Final Pics

Getting ready to head out to Moab this weekend and wanted a better way to mount the ipad mini. Previously I had used the "no drill" method with it attaching to the passenger seat bolt and using the flex rod. I loved the positioning of it, but it moved way to much. It would also impede seat forward and back movement and annoyed passengers (wife). So I decided to go a step further and screw a 1.5 ball from RAM with a kit. Please take your time and see what is under the carpet and don't go drilling. I was suprised (sorry, no pic) what was located under the carpet with wires and rear air tunnel. That determined the location. Overall, cake install. Here are the part numbers of what I ordered off amazon.

RAM-202U-$14.99
RAP-CB-201-18U-$27.71 (this is PVC and easy to cut down) 18 inches seemed way to long when i ordered. I have not cut at all and actually like the height. May cut in future if I desire.
RAM-HOL-AP14U-$16.67

Just wanted to share, let me know if you have any questions.

That's defiantly a cool set up . Just curious, what do you mainly use it for? GPS? radio? I also have a 08 urban runner, and was thinking to change out the stock tom tom unit soon, but I kinda like the I pad idea too. Also just a little curious about your suspension set up. Did you remove your xreas system? and just re-use your rear springs.

I use the ipad for GPS and for radio. Plug into the 3.5mm in the center console. As the radio is worthless for the navigation and bluetooth functionality, i find it has a decent sound when set right. And i just like the steering wheel controls etc... Didn't want to start down the path of switching out, as I have done that many times before on stereo's. For the suspension, I mulled for a long time over ripping the xreas, but yes, ripped it out at around 90k. Absolutely no regrets. I did toytec coilovers and stock rears with 1.5 spacers. 5100s. did the coilovers because i added a front winch and second battery, the stock springs weren't strong enough to keep it level with spacer.

Nice install dude! I can't tell but if you're using self tapping screws, the "tightness" will go away and you may have some movement of the Ipad. I might suggest going with bolts/nuts and a backing plate (on the other side of the floor board/tranny hump). Also, another point of stabilization will help in the long run; perhaps, a means of securing it to the side of the plastic console?

I'm curious how well this has held up and whether vibrations cause the ipad to be readable or not while underway offroad. This seams like a really good option for the price.
