iPhone 4 released

I've seen the HTC Evo this weekend. I like the feature spec, but the phone is a bit too wide. IMO, HTC makes some very nice handsets and it's a good alternative for people who either don't want an iPhone or AT&T.

I have Sprint. I have no issues with them and 3G works great in NorCal, unless I'm off their network and roam on VZW's. I know I'm one of the few and for Sprint to be viable competitor with AT&T and VZW, they'll have to shake that stigma of poor service. (But as long as they're preceived to "suck," it's a better deal for me.) IMO, Sprint is a great value and no other competitor comes close what I have. I shopped others when my contract was up, they all said we can't match that, stick with Sprint.

I like the shape of the iPhone Edge/3G/3GS better than the 4G. But to Apple's credit, their design in the simplicity of the interface is top notch.

Ehhh if Apple offered the iPhone 4G through Verizon, then I would definitely consider buying one. AT&T doesn't seem to have very good coverage in my area, while Verizon seems so give me service everywhere.

I love my iPhone 3G, but I am not eligible for an upgrade for another 8 months or so. So I won't be getting a new one just yet.

Go talk to ATT they will do an early upgrade.

Also about the service, I used to have Verizon and wouldn't get service in places like an elevator shaft or a parking deck. With AT&T I have full service in those places but have random spots of nothing around town. I have dropped on average 2 calls a week for no reason what so ever.

However, i will be preordering today. A little insider info, AT&T will only be offering the black iphone 4 for preorder. I believe apple stores however will off the white for preorder.

Around 2 years ago, I switched from Verizon to AT&T. Overall, Verizon had much better service. Surprisingly, AT&T offers better service near where I go to school. I originally had an iPhone 3G, which I wasn't thrilled with. I replaced it with a BB Bold 9700 and have no complaints. Unfortunately, the iPhone hype got to me and I have an iPhone 4 on preorder!

UPDATE: Of course, I pre-ordered my iphone 4 at Best Buy because is said you are guaranteed a phone on the release date. I called the store today and they told me that BestBuy is only received 5 phones the first. Are you kidding me??????????? I won't have a phone for at least 1 week. If they wouldn't have advertised falsely, I would have ran to the apple store and reserved it there. I would have gotten the phone on Thursday. The only reason I pre-ordered at BestBuy was for the rewards zone points!

yea on top of that, att wussed out. they are getting NO stock at all, NONE. Then 4 hours later, Radio Shack chimes in with: "we are not able to fulfill all requests for the iPhone 4 on launch day." Cancelling most of their pre-orders as well. The only hope left is to wait at the apple store OR possibly walmart. I am almost positive someone, somewhere at a walmart will be shot, trampled, killed, beat, robbed or something of the sort, it will make national news, and apple won't say a word. I am betting now that it will happen.

Biggest FAIL of apple history. I don't even care anymore! Ill just wait til the white one comes in august and get that one. I have OS 4.0 to hold me over anyways until then.

New update: I went to Bestbuy today and they received "enough units" for me to get one tomorrow. From what I understand, they didn't receive the 32 gb phones. Thank goodness I reserved a 16 gb!

I think apple is causing all this uproar to increase publicity. I heard they are releasing the white iphones in fall 2010- way to keep it a top seller for an extended period of time. Also, people were already lining up at the 5th ave NY apple store yesterday at 8 pm. I wouldn't go anywhere near Walmart!

Well the Droid already proved it was better than the iPhone 3. Looks like Droid X will be the iPhone 4 killer.

They haven't proved anything. It's all opinion. They are for two totally different markets and the debate between which is better is as pointless as Mac vs. Windows (which is basically what it comes down to). Most PC users prefer the Droid, and most Mac users prefer the iPhone.

You can sit and argue all day about it, but what I know for sure is that no one is lining up a week in advance for the Droid release, and they never sold over 600,000 devices in a matter of hours.

Me too, there are some odd issues and it is somewhat unclear with all the spirit JB issues and iTunes 9.2 issues. The good part is dev team or geohot normally work something out in only a few days. Shouldn't be too much longer!

I think it's completly the same and completly different. Just like a BMW and a Mercedes, same concept, different features. Both top sellers. It mostly comes down to, in my opinion, customer loyalty.

I think your right broncosi, very similar. Seems like the Droid offers one or two more features though.

I'll be getting the iPhone 4 in about a month. I'm waiting for all the dust to settle. I've had my 3G for almost 2 years, and absolutely love it. Will be sticking with the unlimited data plan, as I seem to be on 3G a lot.

Can't decide between black or white. White wouldn't show scratches or fingerprints...but I'd probably wrap it in a cover anyway.

I am picking mine up at Best Buy today at one o'clock central time. As for people that love droid's it is def opinion only. I wouldn't ever own one but I have a few friends that love theirs. I have more friends that love their iphones though. Droid is a follower, iPhone is a LEADER!

Never again will I have a phone other than an Apple iPhone.
I have another 2 years till my upgrade, though, so no iPhone4 for me any time soon...

I was going to go get mine last night but I decided to just order it online. I initially didn't because the delivery date was during the time I will be in Hawaii, but now it's pushed to July 14th so hopefully it comes right around when I get back.
