Not me. After how my 3GS treated me, ill never go back to apple. Love my HTC Vivid.

I do like HTC a lot because their customer service is second to none and they try to give you updates at reasonable intervals.

That's because it is loses value about a month after it is release! And when you do sell it, it is worth a few pennies.

My iPhone 4S 32Gb was $300 new (contract price)...now, i can sell it to Amazon for $395. PROFIT. Of course, i can eBay it for a lot more too. But, i like to use Amazon because that is a good basis for comparison.

If you're going to make this comparison please use full retail price and not the subsidized price. Anyone can go and get a free phone and turn around the next day and sell it. With your rational it would be PROFIT !!!!!

well if we compare contract prices since thats what 90% of people pay, my EVO 3D cost me 200 from sprint when it first came out, now amazon will give me a max of 50 for it vs. the iphone example given above. android phones lose value so fast because a new one comes out each month. I think that is where they went wrong, there are so many variations of android phones, it is hard to perfect it and make it run good. where apple only has one version they produce so they can fine tune it.

You guys are in a losing battle and for once Thai is probably 100% correct. Myself personally having tried not to buy into the iPhone/Apple hype for many years. Sticking with WinMo, BB and eventually Android based phones I purchased my 3GS back in early 2009 and didnt replace it until earlier this year. I replaced it with an iPhone 4S because the iPhone was by far the best phone I have ever used. It was simple, elegant and fast, with the jailbreak community I had majority of all the features many Android OS phone users claimed made their phone better.

To top it off I was able to sell it for $180 along with my wife's 3GS for $150 and pay for both of our 4S phones. In terms of physical fit and finish of the phone nothing can compare. I havent seen a more durable phone since my days in high school when i had one of those old Nextel brick phones and then throw a case on it like Otterbox or Lifeproof and its even better!

So you take a visually beautiful product and back it up with efficient easy to ease software, more than capable hardware, a huge aftermarket following and seamless syncing between so many devices and the huge resale value anyone who says its an inferior product has clearly lost their mind. Or maybe they are just blinded by their own biased or even "kool-aid" so to speak.


And YES I will be buying an iPhone5 just not for awhile. I like to wait until the hype dies down.

Sorry Gents, the i5 is beat before it even comes out! The Samsung Galaxy S3 is the best phone on the market (including the i5). It's got a bigger/better display (4” LCD vs 4.8” AMOLED) and a faster processor.

As far as speed, on paper yes the A6 makes the i5 to look faster but only time will tell. The S3 has proven to be the fastest phone to date. Its dual core 1.5s and 2 GB of ram run as fast as a quad core. Notice how Apple only compares the i5’s speed to the i4S. It’s amazing how the A6 i5 is already the class leader when there has not been one comparative test done yet (some people need to put the cool-aid down) Again, time will tell!

Can you see how you lose credibility when your story changes so quickly? One minute the S3 is better, then some evidence appears and now we have to wait and see.

Also, you lose credibility with me as soon as you use the "kool-aid" or "iSheep" or "cult" arguments. Do you really believe that this record breaking company with amazing customer retention and satisfaction is all because of some sort of massive international level of delusion? can you see how that is not a very credible argument?

However, i will play your game...lets compare two equivalent product. Galaxy S2 retails for $600 for 16 GB (ATT model). iPhone 4S 16 GB (ATT) retails for $650.

Amazon will give you $370 (like new condition) or $314.50 (good) for iPhone 4S 16GB AT&T.

Amazon will give you $80 (like new) or $68 (good) for Samsung Galaxy S II GT-I9100 Unlocked Phone with 8MP Camera and Touchscreen - International Version (Black). For non-International model, max price is $68 (like new).

Not even close!

This is straight from one of Android's biggest supporter. Enough said. Android turnover rate? Android return customer rate? Android satisfaction rate? And don't let anyone say that Apple ecosystem is to 'blame"...Android/Google ecosystem is now as inclusive as Apple! You can rent/buy movies, books, apps, etc. all with Android/Google.

Just want to repost what Sprint CEO said...it tells the whole story IMO.

I agree. My brother is pure Android/Google. He has Galaxy Nexus international version GSM. We argue all the time! I just like to point out FACTS so that we (as educated consumers) don't propagate propaganda BS.

Thats fine. What drives me nuts is how Apple launches a new device and we have to deal with pages of android fans bashing it, mostly with anecdotal stories and incorrect info.
I don't understand people going out of their way and spending their time hating on Apple. It comes across more like they are trying to justify their own purchase. I certainly dont spend my time on Samsung forums pointing out everything the iPhone does better.

Not playing a game just asking you to make a fair comparison, which you later did, thank you. I just thought your initial comment was slightly misleading as technically no one is making a profit on a used iPhone 4 that they purchased brand new.

Me too. I had the original Samsung Epic with Sprint. I had to return it once to get a new one due to sluggishness and other issues. Still no good. Then i got Samsung Galaxy Nexus S 4G. Initially, i love it with the "pure Google" experience...but then issues came up...constant crashing (once a week, requiring battery pull just like the Epic), poor radios (GPS, 4G, Wifi, and cell), etc.. I finally caved in and got iPhone 4S back in November...and never turned back! Totally positive experience despite the humbling specs ( ).

Actually, you can use your old iPhone to pay for the next iPhone under contract (every 2 years) without spending a dime. Can you say the same about Android counterparts? No.

Or, you can even sell your 4S now (before 2 years) and use that to pay for early termination fee on one carrier (and maybe with money left over depending on how long you have had it) and then go to another carrier and buy iPhone 5 under contract price!! THAT is plain awesome IMO! You can't do that with Android!

I never said you could with android. I was just commenting on your statement. And your correct about getting a new one under contract and that's great if that's what you want to sign up. I would rather pay full price up front and keep my unlimited data than sign up for a new 2 year contract just to get a subsidized price.

Note: Apple iPhone 4S equivalent is the Epic 4G Touch (GS 2). Apple iPhone 5's equivalent is the Samsung S3.

Basically, the 4S is already more valuable on the USED market than iPhone 5's Samsung counterpart.

Hell, even Apple's TWO generation old iPhone (iPhone 4 8gb) is worth more than the latest Samsung Android phone (GS3)!!

Android removable battery serves two purposes: 1. to reboot the damn thing when it fatally crashes weekly.

I laughed out loud on that one, sadly, because I know it is true from having to do it so many times.

This Android phone had/has potential, if they could make it more stable. The apple is just a more solid platform for me. The phone physically has been great, taken a lot of abuse and kept going. Battery sucks, got an extended battery 'brick' the 2nd day I owned the phone. Some of the top apps downloaded are geared to killing the apps and processes that run the background and kill the battery because the OS can't seem to do it.

Who know, maybe in another couple years they will get it right and beat apple, but for now apple is leading this one, for me and what I need/want.
