Hate to correct you rebelbowtie, but you don't need to wait that long. GS3 came out in June, right?? That's 4 months or so ago. GS3 life expectancy of being relevant is about 10-12 more months before Samsung shuts it down. I sure hope that GS3 owners have a one year contract or pre-paid...because otherwise, they will soon feel the well-known medical condition, called "Samsung Neglect" syndrome.
Think of it this way...Google owns Motorola...and look at how Motorola flat out lie and abandon their one year old phone customers!!
The only Android company that truly supports their customers is HTC...and Google's own phones. Otherwise, your Android phones will be bricks after a year or so.
Even now, iPhone 4 (not 4S) is worth more than GS3!!

If you don't know what you are talking about, you should try not to let everyone know! I know this a little hard for you to comprehend but; flash doesn't support jelly bean but, jelly bean does support Flash.
BTW - What I do know is you have no as to what you are talking about or what you read and post! Lay off the Kool-aid and work on your comprehension! The FACT is the S3 will run longer on its battery then the i5 (and with JB it will be even better).

So,can I ask for some unbiased opinions since this thread seems to be fanboys vs fanboys with just spouting specs and such.
What are the cons of the iPhone since it can't be 100% perfect and using real world apps or features what does one do that the other doesn't?
I've been hearing the iPhone is having some issues with connectivity to some brands of cars and of course the map snafu that pushed us back in time 10 years or so.
No phone is perfect but arging speeds and all this other stuff barely registers with your average user since I do see ton of people with iPhones just because of it's being sort of status symbol and most of the phone's features are well out of thei technologocal comprehension and that includes android phones.

iPhone weaknesses:
1. Maps...kinda obvious.
2. You can't get it cheap 3 months after release...basically, the only time that you will see discounts on iPhones is at the end of one year period when the next iPhone is coming out.
3. Limited customization. (But still better than Windows!)
4. No widgets
5. Small screen if you like big ones
6. No live fish tank background
7. No variation of the product; e.g. hard keyboard for example (loved that about my Samsung Epic)
8. Comes out once a year

Real world advantages? RELIABLE. It does what it advertises (exception being Maps...for now). No crashes. No stuttering. SECURITY. No need for Lookout app, no need for anti-virus app, no need for AppKiller. And this is why businesses are replacing their Blackberries with iPhones/iPads. TONS OF APP SELECTION. No comparison there. CUSTOMER CARE. Apple stores are usually very accomodating. ACCESSORY SUPPORT. Tons of stuff for Apple products ranging from headphones to BT stereo equipment. BATTERY LIFE. No need for 2nd set of batteries to carry around (or chargers).
My wife loves the iPhone now because for the first time, she does not need a charger to carry. Her texting has improved on the iPhone due to better letter spacing and auto-correct. Jellybean autocorrect or suggestions were horrible and intrusive!
My wife is non-techy and, like me, went Android first because the phone was cheaper (my wife will always choose the economical choice). She hated ICS...destroyed her phone! Battery issue became a constant hassle. Gingerbread (2.3) was more logical for her.
As for MAPS, give Apple 6-8 months...i bet that Apple will be competitive with Google with Maps.

Iphone cons that I didn't see mentioned above:
-no drag & drop file management
-Itunes, I HATE itunes. I've only connected my phones maybe 6 times in the 3+ years I've had iphones, and I've managed to screw it up. My wife's iphone requires MY password to update certain apps, the accounts got intertwined somehow, no idea how to fix this. My phone wants to backup to whatever version is on the itunes database everytime I connect it to the PC, as a result of a failed backup. If anyone has info to get this sorted out, please point me in that direction.

Let me address this separately. IMO, as for "status symbol", that is just bogus argument from Fandroids. That has no logic. Let's look at this from objective point of view.
How much is it to get an iPhone under contract? $200 for 16GB.
How much is it to get a Galaxy S3 under contract? $200 (at least on Sprint).
How much is it to get an iPhone without contract? $650 for 16 GB.
How much is it to get a Galaxy S3 without contract? $550? or $700 (i get these two numbers when i searched).
You can get iPhones on any carriers, even MetroPCS and other small carriers.

A homeless guy with $200 can own an iPhone...granted if he can pay the monthly payments. A homeless guy can buy an iPhone 5 for $650, which is $50-100 (plus or minus) within the top-level Android devices.
It is part of an eco-system that is no different than Google's.
Where is the status symbol? Status symbol for me is like a BMW or Lexus or Mercedes, where you actually have to have some money to buy it to show your wealth. Right? Or am i not understanding it?
How is the iPhone initial cost any different than any other top-tier Android product?? That's the bottom line, isn't it?
Can you actually tell me that a Galaxy S3 has a build quality and materials befitting a $600 product?? Don't jump to conclusion. Think about it. Look at what $600 buys...(don't look at Apple)...look at Motorola RAZR or HTC X One build quality and materials. After looking at those other top Androids, can you seriously tell me that GS3 deserve its lofty price tag??
Hell, i can make the argument that GS3 is MORE of a status symbol than Apple is...because Android fanboys buy it because it is a Samsung.
The status symbol argument loses value when you consider that anyone can own an iPhone for $200. Yes, an iPhone holds value longer and thus, less discounts down the road...but is a Corolla more of a status symbol than BMW 7-series only because it holds value better??
Is status symbol because it is so popular?? But, isn't popularity the anti-status symbol in itself?? Is Toyota Camry a status symbol??
Is it that this "status symbol" argument (from Android fans) came about out of jealousy?? I think so. Is it because iPhones traditionally have had superior build quality that actually matches the cost of the phone?? I think so. Is it because iPhones use high quality materials? Yes...but is that really iPhone's fault?

I use Dropbox cloud. No need for anything. I just pick what i want uploaded into the cloud.
Your incompetence (no offense) is not Apple's problem. Your lack of familarity (connected 6 times in 3+ yrs) is not Apple's problem. The fact that you only had to connect 6 times in 3+ years is an argument against Android fanboys who claim the constant need for iTunes.:thumb3: The fact that you made a piss-poor effort initially to set up iTunes and/or your iPhone is YOUR fault, no one else.
Here is another nice tidbit...with Apple, i can restore my iPhone (or add a new iPhone) instantly...down to my settings (ringtone, preferences, etc.)!! I can restore via iCloud too. And it restores it down to each app location on the screen. I get back an exact duplicate of my backup.
What do you get with Android? You can restore it...but the only thing that you get back is your Contacts. Apps migration is poor. You have to set your settings all over again. It is a painful process...a process that i am too familiar with unfortunately!
A process that can take hours if you had customized it a lot!!iOS6 no longer requires PW for updating. It only requires when you buy an app. This makes sense. Remember, Apple is seeking security measures to compete with Blackberry. Apple has no interest in the viral-filled openness of Android.
Here is a suggestion...take your iPhone AND laptop to Apple store. Why are you waiting 3+ years to find the solution when it is only a mall away?? :welcome:

I also disagree like Thai that phones can't be status symbols. I also don't believe most "status" cars are really status symbols. Unless its a supercar

I get **** from a lot of people for having an Audi but I paid less for my 2008 S-line than most of my friends paid for their cars/trucks. You see a guy driving a Chevrolet Silverado and do you think status symbol? Probably not buy it cost as much as most BMW/MB/Audi's you see on the road, save for the ultra lux trim models.
Most of them depreciate so quickly that majority of your 4Runners are of equal value.
