Iphone plugging into the console AC outlet

Who else had this problem?? Is there a way to make the iphone plugs fit? Do you have to take off the hinged cover to get it to plug all the way in?

Im not 100% on this, but i believe it was only the limiteds that had it in the middle console. Mines an 06 and it has it right next to the Aux plug

I have an 07 Sport with the Aux power in the middle console. It was an option on all models I believe. I've plugged in my iphone to that port before. I had to turn the AC adapter upside down but after that it worked just like normal.

You can get little 6" AC extension cords - These are typically used for power strips that have the ports very close together such that you can't put large wall warts on them. This should work well.

In mine limited it charges even if not fully plugged in. I can live w that.

Isnt there an option for a electircal outlet in the main center console storage?

If someone knows the part number I'd like to get it.

It's very low power (100W?), you might be better off to spend much less on an aftermarket unit that delivers several times that amount of power.

I removed the cover and tabs so I could plug in easier. Using the 115v charger for phone is much quicker than any of the 12v chargers

I've got both my Ipad & Iphone chargers to plug into the outlet with no problems at all. Just make sure that the hinge is open all the way and that you can angle it just enough to get it to receive power and charge your accessories!

I made a little extension cord with a multi-ended adapter. That way I can power my computer and still have an outlet available for whatever.

Now, my question for the OP is why not just use the car-adapter for your phone? It is easier to just use this method than to dig into the console, turn on the switch and use that rather short cable.
