IPod Nano (3rd gen) pairing with bluetooth

So I've been trying to figure out how to pair my Ipod with the bluetooth system and I can't seem to get it. I've searched other threads but still can't seem to find my answer. I did pair my LG phone without any problem. I am getting stuck with it asked me to input the "passcode" into the Ipod. I have no idea how to do that on my Ipod!!! Has anyone else paired their 3rd gen Ipod Nano?? Any help is much appreciated but I am quite frustrated!! :redbrick: Although, it's probably really simple. haha.

I don't believe 3rd Gen Nanos have bluetooth capabilty built in. At least my daughter's doesn't. You can just plug it into the USB in your glovebox if you have one.
You can buy a bluetooth adapter but not sure how hard it would be to synch with the stereo. Add Bluetooth to your iPod w/ Original Motorola D650 Bluetooth Adapter for Headphones!

Are you sure it's a 3rd gen Nano? Mine doesn't have bluetooth capability.
I connect my 3rd gen Nano to the USB port in glove box. keeps it hidden too.

Got it! You guys were right about the 3rd gen not having bluetooth. I had tried the USB before but didn't realize that I had to hit the AUX button twice to hear it playing. :thanks: so much!

Has anyone had success with using this adapter? I have paired my iPhone so I am familiar with process but I can't get this adapter on my kids Nano to pair up with the 4R's BT system.

I paired the adapter to some BT headphones so I know it works but for some reason the BT in the 4R can't seem to find it. (It says searching, searching and then it can't connect and try again). Having it in the glove box with the ipod connect is great but my kid likes to control it and having the 6 ft aux cord is too old school.
