Ironman 4x4 UCA Recall

In case some are not aware, there is a recall on the Ironman UCA with the following serial numbers: UCA001FA, UCA048FA, UCA056FA, and UCA075FA. You can go to ironman4x4america.com/recall and fill out the application to get a new set of UCAs shipped for free. They will also cover the cost of installation.

I bought mine through a friend who lives 20 minutes from their Oregon facility. Cheat Uncle Sam a little, but I wonder if I can still claim the warranty for the uppers. Although I don't think mine are faulty, it's still working pretty good with over 30K on em.

Thought it was a little strange that they were out of stock of every UCA they make. Seems like they were using cheap ball joints

Only weak point is the lack of ball joint covers. They have that uncovered low spot where dirt and water are bound to collect and there is nowhere for it to go. I bought Dobinsons ball joint covers for mine, perfect fit and water tight with the rubber o-ring. Mine have @ 25k miles on them, still like new.

Is anyone else having issues getting Ironman to pay for the replacement cost?

I submitted my installation receipt a few months ago, and they are doing everything possible not to reimburse me.
