I'm dying to get back into a 1st gen and found an amazing deal. Here's the problem. I have a 80 commute (total) 5 day a week, an infant and a 3 year old. Is this a terrible idea as a daily driver? Do car seats fit? Will I be fixing it all the time? 12000 on a new 22re. 160000'on the rest of it. Zero rust. $3000. Your input is appreciated.

You might need to mess around with the back seat to make car seats work, depending on if it's got shoulder belts or just lap belts. And it's a 2door, so getting the little ones in and out is not as easy. You won't get the best mileage in the world, average for most folks seems to be 16-19 mpg.
Having said that, the 22re motor is near bulletproof, the field of view from the drivers seat is excellent, and when you take the top off, you don't need AC.
I DD drive my '86, and it gets me and my small family around just fine.
