Is it rude to Flash?

Quick question here, if I see another 4 runner while driving during the day I give them a quick flash with my light, kind of like to say Hi man, nice vehicle.
Am I being rude?
When I used to ride my motorcycle we used to give a hand wave eveytime we saw another rider.

Just asking.

p.s Tried to get my wife to flash too but she was not game for that

Not rude- mostly annoying.

When I had my Jeep TJ- the "Jeep wave" got old after about a week. Then I became "that guy that didn't wave back" all the time. But, maybe I'm just grumpy. My .02 FWIW

You're so grumpy! I had a YJ and def did the waves...I had to train myself to stop waving at Jeeps once I made the switch, lol

If you flashed your lights at me I would slow down expecting police or a wreck ahead. When that did not happen I would then think you had inadvertently hit your light switch.

If I flashed my light in morse code would you be able to understand it.....?

yeah....don't flash.....

If I flash someone it's usually because they didn't turn their high beams off on a dark road and they're blinding me. Or as other people mentioned a speed trap ahead.

If someone flashes me the first thing I look at is my high beams if there's no speed trap or my high beams are off I usually wonder wtf did that person want.

For the motorcycle wave, up here I noticed that its becoming less and less as there are more bikes on the road. With rising gas prices you'll be spending most your time waving. Plus you never get. Wave from Harley guys before anyway. They bought a persona and waving doesn't stick to that.

I do the same. Eventually I'm trying to stop (and it's hard) flashing cars even their high beams are on...I just let it go.

Here's an idea, flashing with fog lights! Works day and night!:hello:

I'm a Vegas 5th Gen 4runner owner, if I see you around, I'll try the dual-hand sunroof wave. :driving:

Deal I haven't seen many Shoreline Blue 5th Gen LE's around and I live in the south part of the Valley, if you see one i dare you to give me the two handed sunroof wave. LOL
