2005 4R w/V8 LTD - Couple of weeks ago Check Engine, VSC TRAC & VSSC OFF lights came on. Scanned and DTC P2401 ( Evaporative emission leak detection pump stuck off ) came up. I erased code and DTC came back today ( after several drive cycles. Lights were off during this period perhaps pump came unstuck ? ). Can vehicle be driven with this code still active without it going into the dreaded Limp Mode ? Any insights are welcome.

It should be fine to drive it, but one never knows.

Just an FYI sometimes those lights will also come on when the gas cap stops sealing properly, it's a common issue once they get old, try putting a little Vaseline on the rubber O-ring on the gas cap and see if that helps or temporarily fixes it, if so get a new OEM gas cap, aftermarket caps sometimes don't seal very well.

All evap codes are safe to drive on.

Check the wiring to the solenoid and if its good I'd try replacing it, it's like a $15 part.

Much thanks to all for the insights to my problem. I have a spare gas cap ( new but generic ) so can try with some vaseline if lights came on again. Methinks if light stays off for an extended period then comes back , I'll then check & spray Detox on wiring connections next. Good to know its safe to drive vehicle.

Yes it should be, but depending on the year of your TCS system it does turn off ABS/VSC. In the 2003 that is the case. (Granted mine is a pre-recall ECU unit)
The only other thing I can think of it doing is the engine assuming "worst possible case" and running richer than normal.

Wife's vehicle and she only uses it for trips into town for groceries ( 30 kms or 18.6 miles round trip ) . I'll just tell her to ignore the lights if they should pop up.

The only 2 lights to worry about (speaking generally):

- Magic genie light (oil pressure light)
- Flashing CEL
