Is OME rear trim spacer necessary to correct driver side lean?

Turns out no, the drivers side trim spacers were not necessary. Check my OME link in my signature for the full review after I purchased my kit. My shop didn't install the trim spacers and my 4Runner sits basically perfectly level.

So I'm getting the OME springs (880/906) and I'm going to use the front trim spacer (5 mm one), but I'm wondering if the rear spacer is also recommended...

Should I use the rear 10 mm trip spacer on my rear driver side spring??? People with these springs, what did you do?

Thanks!

I'm curious if a spacer is also necessary for so called driver side lean. I'm going with tundra 5100+ eibach. Anyone ? If so what spacer

From my experience, if you just put one on the drivers side rear spring, it will push the passenger front down and level it out all the way around. I prefer this route over placing more preload on the front springs. This is also true the other way around, if you place one on the driver's front, it will push the passenger rear down. Part of it also depends on whether you would want to raise the front, rear, or both to get the rake where you want it. Personally, I would just use one in the drivers rear, DRIVE FOR A COUPLE DAYS, and then measure with about a half tank of gas, and go from there.

Nobody can tell you what is "necessary" on your vehicle as each one varies. You can make an educated guess by using a measuring tape before you install, but you really won't know for sure without a little trial and error.

You are right, I just though maybe someone is running this set up and actually used a toytec spacer on driver side... But trial and error is the way with this.

This is of topic, but when you do front tundra shocks with eibachs, do you guys recommend any new strut mounts or top hat/isolators or just reuse the old ones ?

I have the OME 890s and I had driver's side lean. Then I put in the trim packer on the driver's side and it leveled it out. Not too sure about it affecting the front stance. I just put in ome 883 up front and everything is good and level. Hope this helps.

I only know about the 2906s for the rear, no knowledge of the fronts.

The 2906s are 2 different spring lengths. I put the taller one on the drivers side, of course, and mine sits nice and level. Did not need any spacer.

Here's my update. I had the suspension installed WITHOUT ANY DRIVER SIDE TRIM PACKERS. The driver side might actually be a bit taller as a result!

I used the 880/906 springs, and here are my measurements with just over half a tank of gas...

  • Front driver: 35 3/4"
  • Front passenger: 35 3/4"
  • Rear driver: 36 3/4"
  • Rear passenger: 36 1/2"

However, I measured again with a full tank, and the driver side is a bit lower. Although I parked on a very slight slope, so maybe that added some difference.

So overall, I'd recommend not using the packers. It visually looks level.

Here's my review of the suspension: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/169569-review-ome-880-906-lift-3rd-gen-4runner.html

Im going to try and fix my lean here soon. Front driver is 1" lower than passenger and rear driver is 1/2" lower than rear passenger with my 881's upfront and LC 7 wraps out back.

From my research two 1/4" spacers for the front left should raise the left about an inch and some have had the rear actually lift up when installing the front left spacer about 1/2". I hope this works for me. I also have a 1/4" extra I can add to the rear by installing just one cone bump stop back in if I need it to correct the rear but I hope the front works.

Jay did you ever do this?

Edit: nevermind I saw in another post about your plate and spring spacers.

While we're on the subject...4th gen guys use a Daystar 1.5" spacer on the driver rear only to drive the front passenger side down, also giving a bit of a rake. 1.5" seems a bit excessive to me. Anyone on stock suspension installed this?
