Is the 2012 still build in Japan?

Hello everybody.

I'll buy a 4Runner in the next weeks and went to my local dealer to look around.
I know in the past the 4Runner was 100% build in Japan, but with the 2012 I saw that it says "90% Japan and 10% US/Canada".
What that means, it's not build in Japan anymore or just some small parts are from US/Canada?

Thanks for clarifying that, but what's the deal with 10% US/Canada?
I've looked at the VIN numbers and all starts with "Jxxx...".

They are getting some parts(10%) then from North America and more then they used to , as pretty sure mine was 5"%. Who knows what parts ?They are assembled over there though.

Vin's that start with J are made in Japan.

I was looking to buy a 4Runner for a long time and I know that 4th Gen was 100% Japan and when I've looked at 2012 and I saw 90% Japan I was...what's up with Toyota?
I just sold my 2006 Corolla which I've drove without any problems for 6 years and I know it's still Toyota quality, no matter where are build.
 
Are you referring to the parts content sticker on the window or the actual Monroney sticker.

LC, 4R, LX, and GX are the only entirely manufactured-from-Japanese components made in Japan Toyota SUVs left. The only port-installed US items are the floor mats.

The FJ is manufactured using transmissions that were made in Aisin's NC plant and shipped back over the puddle. The assemblies of FJs are also outsourced to the Hamura plant which is Hino owned. It also sources parts from Toyota keiretsu companies.

As long as they don't make them in China hopefully we should be safe.

I know the Tsunami last year disrupted the parts supply so I wouldn't be surprised if some of the parts for the newer Yota's was being sourced from different places.

Seemed like I read an article where Honda had to get a bunch of stuff they normally produced from other countries.

Some Japanase motorcycles (Kawa KLR) started using parts outsourced from China and alledgedly suffered quality issues....

I was referring at sticker on the window.
I don't know what is the Monroney sticker.
 
I still couldn't find in the links you provided that said they were 100%?

Anyone who knows who Clockwork/EskimoChaos is knows what it means. How's it provocative? Do you even know who Clockwork/EskimoChaos is? I'm not the only one on these boards pointing out that he's registered under another username again. His posting style will apparently never change and it's what always makes him controversial and gets him banned.
