Is the 3rd row useful? Anyone miss the V8?

stop listening to the people of this forum saying 3RD row is useless, or very uncomfortable.

I use it regulary, and even used it, for ADULTS, for quite long trips, and nobody ever complained. If they did, they would not deserve to be in my truck with us anyway. It is obvious that the 6foot people will sit in the middle row, and smaller ones in the 3rd, just have to do some logistics. Most people sitting there even love the view.

Never ever sat a kid back there, all the times it was used, it was by adult. Tried it myself (5 foot 9 inches), and its very acceptable, you even have personal cup holders back there. I would say the comfortable height limit back there to be about my height (5 foot 9 inches).

I nearly rejected the 3rd row before buying because of the negative people here, but after trying it, and now having it, I am glad I did get it.

BTW: I didn't read the whole thread, but all the time I did read threads about 3rd row, it was filled with nonsense negative comments, like if every of our friends were millionaires that would not accept sitting there.

I have smart key and auto headlights as standard features on my Unlimited and I live the 3rd row. No issues at all. Works great, I just took a bunch of scouts to camp this week.

Just get castrated, buy a minivan and be done with it.

I don't think Toyota should even offer a 3rd seat in the 4Runner. I looked at one in a Limited when I bought my Trail and unless you are a midget or 5 year old rug rat, they are useless and just take up space I need for things I want to haul, like backpacks. Because I actually use my 4Runner. For trips to the mountains and not the mall.

Yeah, I've had my UnLimited for a year and a half and JUST found out it even had 4wheel drive. Since I don't go anywhere like mountains in it, the 3rd row means so much more to me than room for dumb gear. I need room for shopping bags

I agree with having the 3rd row..... I have 3 kids, 1yr / 3yrs and 6yrs. the baby seat goes on the left side rear seat so I can access the 3rd row via the right side rear seat.
My 2 older girls have a blast sitting in the 3rd row (thats their domain)
I have sat back there and it wasn't as bad as people make it out to be,
I am 5'6" 180lbs
yes there is no A/C but the center front vents provide enough circulation.
Now if you are 6'2" of course its not going to work but the fact that it tumbles and hides makes it worth it to me.
we need to be practical....3rd row is no lazy boy but it does have its purpose within reason, I use it all the time for the kids.
